Delegate Participation, Preparation and Readiness

In addition to the requisite skills listed in the invitation, all class delegates are required to complete
course pre-work prior to the class start date. These activities are designed to better prepare delegates
for classroom participation and the accompanying ACE Accreditation requirements.

Training Requirements:

In order to register, students MUST have completed the associated eLearning learning Path as
part of the accreditation requirements defined in the McAfee SecurityAlliance™ Partner
Program

o For information on the Technical Certification Learning Paths- please reference the
Certification Overview document posted on the home page of the Partner eLearning
Center.
Class members are required to have baseline of knowledge of the solution prior to attending the
class. Materials to support this requisite knowledge are detailed in the pre-work document that
you will receive upon approval of your registration. All necessary pre-work material must be
obtained and all associated exercises completed prior to class.

Technology Requirements:

Installed and running version of VMware Workstation.

CAUTION! In order to register, students MUST have their own laptop that has support for 64-bit
processor extensions (e.g. – enabled in the BIOS) to run the Web Gateway appliance; the virtual
appliance software WILL NOT COMPILE without this capability. Note that this requirement does
not extend to the host operating system; it only applies to the processor.
Installed and functioning version of VMware Workstation:
o VMware Workstation is McAfee’s defacto standard for classroom training and localized
virtualization activities.
o Each student is required to have a copy of VMware Workstation (6.5.4 or newer)
installed and functioning on their laptop prior to class.
o Every effort should be made to use version 7.0 (or newer) due to significant software
enhancements added in support of 64-bit guest operating systems. If your company
does not license VMware products, the latest evaluation version of VMware
Workstation is available here for a 30-day evaluation period.
Installed and functioning McAfee Web Gateway virtual appliance
Installed and functioning McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 4.5 Server with Web Reporter application
Installed and functioning client machine (XP or greater) for proxy purposes and testing

Note: Approved registrants will be provided a “pre-work” document outlining the necessary
instructions to obtain all required software, complete the required configurations in support of
classroom lab activities, as well as, build functional copies of this McAfee solution for classroom and
future use. The McAfee Channel Enablement Engineers are available via e-mail for registered students
who encounter any difficulties, or who might have questions surrounding their class preparation.
