Learning Styles & Multiple Intelligence Profile Assignment

Mia Burns

Results for 1st survey are on page 2

1. My 3 highest learning styles are reflective - 3, intuitive - 7, and verbal - 1. This is pretty

much the same as what I would’ve thought before taking this survey because I notice

these things in my everyday life in a classroom. I am very reflective because of how I go

about assignments. I like to have examples and see things so that I can reflect on what to

do, or what I need to be doing better. I am very intuitive in the sense that when teachers

don’t fully clarify what needs to be done, I try my best to fill in the gaps myself. I think

this quality will be very helpful especially moving onto college. I am also very verbal. I

like when teachers are talking to explain assignments. Also this is helpful because it

makes it a lot easier to ask questions. I think it is important to speak up and ask questions,

so you know what is going on.

2. To become more of an active learner, I am contribute more to group work. I can talk

about ideas out loud than just thinking about them. I need to be more vocal about ideas in

a classroom, which will help me to be more active. I am much more of a verbal person

than a visual person, and I need to work on that in the classroom. I could do this by

instead of working by myself, I could work in a group and understand what other people

think too. Or I could try to understand visuals in the classroom more. I am more global

than I am sequential. I often will not get a topic at all, then all of a sudden it just clicks in

my head. I am already trying to work on this by absorbing more of the material. Before

class, I normally will skim through the entire chapter on my own just to get a head start. I

also have learned asking questions clears a lot of my confusion.

Results for 2nd survey are under the questions

My top 3 results for the second survey were self, spatial, and social.

1. I agree with all of these. They describe me very well. I think these are all 3 definietly my

top 3 intelligences. My first one was self. I think I have a great sense of self. I am a
person that needs their alone time. After a day with friends, I always like to go home and

go into my room by myself and just reflect. I can depend on myself a lot doing work by

myself a lot also. My second one was spatial. I had never heard this word before, but after

reading the description it fits me very well. My sophomore year I became really into art,

and I realized that I was good at it. It became a way that I expressed myself. I also really

like bright rooms. I always get along better in places that have a lot of graphics or things

to look at. Not for learning, but just something good for my eyes to see. My last one was

social. I am such a social person. I need to always be talking to people. I like my alone

time, but after a little of it I am ready to talk to people. I like to keep to keep myself busy

like doing things with my friends. Maybe going out to eat or going shopping, those are a

few things I like to do socially.

2. Musical and math were my lowest scores. I think something that I could do to help

getting better at music is be more involved in it. I love listening to music, I do it every

single day. I could get more into it though by maybe playing an instrument, or maybe

working on singing. For math, I need to think more logically sometimes. Or even take a

math class, because I am not in a math class at the moment.

Reflection

I think this survey was very helpful to see where my strengths were, and what things that I need

to improve on. There is always room for improvement for me, and to learn better ways to

accommodate where I am weakest. This also helps me because I realized how many things that I

am ‘weak’ in. When I am a teacher, I need to remember this about my students. We all have

different ways that we learn best, and I need to do my absolute best at fitting each lesson to help

every student.
