Water Treatment and

Desalination
The School of Engineering and Information Technology provides a stimulating learning environment with world
class facilities. Our highly skilled graduates find careers in challenging and dynamic sectors such as resources
engineering and renewable energy industries.
Our academic staff come from around the globe and bring cutting-edge, internationally-acclaimed research skills
and interests. The unique, laboratory and pilot scale facilities provide students with extensive, hands-on exposure
to the equipment, processes, computational models, software and challenges they will meet in their professional
engineering career. Students learn about the latest advances in areas such as integration of renewable energy and
energy storage into micro-electrical grids, newly discovered air pollutants from fire retardants, desalination for
remote communities and agriculture, extracting metals from mineral resources and waste products, and green
engineered buildings.
All courses incorporate visiting industry practitioners as well as opportunities for students who wish to engage in
internships and gaining unit credits for industrial placements.
