Assignment Title: resume reflection

Student Writing Goal: To be able to find my mistakes, revise my work and make it better. I also hope to use a better
choice of words and to not be as repetitive.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to help us edit and work on our resumes. We created them to be
prepared for when it’s time for us to find better paying, full time or even part time jobs. They’re going to be
very useful in a few months because they show our work experience, volunteer experience, what we’ve done
throughout high school, etc.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
According to the rubric I did pretty well on my resume. I revised it and highlighted all of my changes, there
wasn’t many but I did make some changes to better my resume. The parts I changed most were my bullet
points where It shows my volunteer experience.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I did well on knowing what to focus on. I tried to focus on using it to find a job at a doctor’s office so I
showed my skills that would help me with that. I also knew what my strengths and weaknesses were. Another
thing I did well was I was able to add lots of volunteer experience from the past and my work experience.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this assignment because it’s something that will be very useful in a few months. It’s going to
help me in the long run for when I put it into use. There wasn’t much to change but I tried to improve what’s
changed since the first time I made this resume.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
For my next writing assignment I hope to put in the same effort and to make it as good as this one. The only
thing I want to change is I want to not procrastinate so that my work isn’t rushed.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I did great on my previously stated goals. I created a well formatted resume and have spent lots of time
revising to make it better. I met all of the requirements and stated what was asked.
