SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN


IN COOKERY NC II

I. Objectives/Intended Learning Outcomes


At the end of 1-hour lesson, 90% of the grade eleven (11) students must be able to do the
following with at least 90% degree of competency:

a) Identify sandwich component ;


b) Identify breads and its filling and spreads suited for sandwich making;
c) describe the importance of sanitary practices in sandwich making and
d) prepare sandwiches using sanitary practices.

II. Subject Matter


A. Topic: LO 2. Prepare a variety of sandwiches
B. Reference: Trainee Manual Prepare a variety of sandwiches (ASEAN 2012)
C. Materials: Power Point Presentation
Chopping Board, Bread Knife, Plates
D. Integrated Value: Health Sanitary Awareness

III. Procedure (ASSURE Instructional Model)


A. Preparatory Activity (10 Minutes)
1. Presentation
i. Greetings, Prayer, Cleaning and arranging the classroom, and checking of attendance.
2. Motivation: Informational Video
i. Watch the video about sandwiches. Remind the students to observe and take down notes
the important information
ii. Ask the student to report their observation in the class.

B. Developmental Activity (20 Minutes)


1. Pre-laboratory Activity
i. Let the learner go to their Food Groups and recall the standards during laboratory activity.
(GROUPS: Go, Grow and Glow)
ii. Present the materials needed and laboratory instruction.
iii. Distribute the activity sheet to each group.

2. Laboratory Activity
i. Using the activity sheet as a guide, each group work cooperatively.
ii. Activity 1: SANDWICH (attached herewith is the sample activity Sheet).
iii. Each food groups does the assigned task for exhibit and reporting.

3. Post-laboratory Activity
i. After the activity, display the work of each group in front of the classroom.
ii. Analyze with the whole class the each group output.
iii. Make agreement on the results that lead to conceptualization.
iv. The teacher gives additional information enrichment.

C. Concluding Activity (5 Minutes)


1. Conceptualization
The role of sandwiches and their derivations cannot be under estimated in commercial
kitchens and in the hospitality industry.
It may be considered a lower skilled job but it can be very profitable product to sell.
Sandwiches play a significant role in catering for parties and in-house events, as well as
maintaining a central position in the daily eating of people from all over the world.
2. Valuing
i. How will you use what you have learned in this lesson in being aware in health sanitary
practices?
