To Whom It May Concern:

I have had the pleasure of being Taylor Schoolar’s field hockey coach at Frank W. Cox High School. As
one of Taylor’s coaches, I have known her to be an exemplary student athlete, as well as, a role model
on and off the field. Taylor is known and loved by every person at Cox, both teachers, students, and
teammates alike.

Taylor demonstrates her leadership ability in everything she does. Her dedication, drive, humor, and
overall positive disposition make her a natural leader that younger players, as well as, older, rely on
throughout the season. Taylor is the kind of athlete every coach wants on his or her team.

Though Taylor plays field hockey at Cox High School, she has committed to play lacrosse at Christopher
Newport after graduation. Despite field hockey not being her first sport, one would never know it as she
puts forth as much, if not more effort than anyone on the team does.

On the hockey field, Taylor’s leadership and direction was what ultimately lead to such a successful
season for Cox High School this year. Taylor effectively and clearly communicated and led her
teammates on the field throughout the games particularly during high stress situations, as she our
goalie. In combination with Taylor’s field presence, it was through hard work, struggle, and
determination, that she was able to help lead her team to such an accomplished season.

Not only has Taylor established herself on the field, but also off the field, Taylor demonstrates
leadership qualities in all of the clubs and organizations she is involved with at Cox. As a member of the
SCA, Taylor maintains a high academic standard in conjunction with her demonstration of exemplar
scholastics. In addition to her academics, Taylor is committed to helping others as demonstrated
through her volunteer coaching at Cox Summer Camps and all she does with Operation Smile. Taylor
has been on numerous service trips with Operation Smile and is now serving on the executive board.

Taylor represents the kind of student and athlete all teachers and coaches want to work with. I am
saddened that next year, will be Taylor’s last year at Cox High School, but excited that she will be moving
on to greater challenges, and through her strong work ethic, positive outlook, and dedication to achieve
greatness, she is going to face each one of these challenges head on and come out on top.

Sincerely,

Taylor B. Rountree
