I would like to offer my application for the clinical nurse educator of perioperative and critical care position
posted on Northwell Health's career page. As an experienced nurse educator in the perioperative field, and
registered nurse of 12 years, I am confident that my skills and experience will contribute to your organization’s
needs. Donna Rivera, a nurse educator in the emergency department at LIJ Forest Hills suggested that I apply to
this position when it was posted.

I will be the recipient of a master’s degree in nursing education from SUNY Delhi in May 2019. Some skills that
would make me an excellent candidate for the nurse educator position include: developing and coordinating
competency-based orientation for nurses who are transitioning into a perioperative position, collaborating with
other educators to develop new education for the staff, developing and managing yearly hospital-based
competencies, and engaging in interprofessional communication with my peers and the leadership team. With 12
years of experience in direct patient care ranging from general medical-surgical patients to critical care and post
anesthesia care patients, I believe I have the skills needed to be a clinical nurse educator at LIJ Forest Hills.
