Design
The diffuse sensor with background suppression is fitted on a plastic plate. The plate can be rotated in increments of 15°. The electrical
connections are inside a plastic housing. The electrical connection is made via safety sockets. The unit is mounted on the profile plate using
the locking system with the blue lever (mounting version "A").

Function
Optical proximity sensors consist of two principal modules, the transmitter and the receiver. In the case of diffuse sensors, both are located in
a single housing.
The transmitter of the diffuse sensor emits pulsed red light, which lies in the visible part of the spectrum. The object to be detected reflects
back some of the emitted light. This light is detected by semiconductor receivers that are also located in the sensor housing, which causes the
switching status to change.
The object to be detected can be reflective, matt, transparent or opaque. The only requirement is that a sufficiently high amount of light is
reflected as diffuse light. It's not the intensity of the reflected light that is evaluated, but the position of the light beam reflected by the object.
The background suppression is adjusted electronically by means of teach-in.
The proximity sensor has a PNP output, i.e. the signal line is connected to the positive potential when switched. The load is connected
between the proximity sensor signal output and ground. A yellow LED indicates the switching status.
