Professional Philosophy
Since I was born, I have had athletics all around me. My father told me when I was born,
the first stuffed animal the hospital gave me was a teddy bear holding a football. Athletics have
changed my life in so many ways. Athletics has made decisions for me from the friends I made,
to becoming the biggest Clemson Tiger fan, and even choosing to attend Coastal Carolina
much about athletics. I also believe that my friends and family that know me, always put
“ATHLETE” as a description for myself. I think I will bring passion, emotion, and teamwork to
The recreation, sport, and leisure field are without a doubt one of the most important
industries that not only the United States has, but also globally. This industry is continuing to
grow as we speak. One of the biggest reasons why this field is so important is because this gives
opportunity for different people to have enjoyment outside of their lives. You never know what
someone may be going through in their life, but with sports, you always seem to cheer up. For
example, someone could visit a national park of their choice to relieve stress or just to get away
from everything and relax. Recreation can not only relieve stress from your body, it also allows
you to bring that competitive nature everyone has somewhere in their person. It can be pick-up
games or a professional organization, you can show off your abilities in whatever the activity

may be. Recreation can also be a good way of releasing some built-up energy that you may have.
There are recreation centers all across the United States that allow you to play different sports,
weightlift, running or jogging, and maybe even swimming. I know from previous experiences
that if something was not going my way such as a rough day of school, some family issues,
whatever, I could always go to the football field and run some routes or go to the basketball
courts and put up some jump shots. Sports can also allow someone to support a team with all of
your passion. Especially with college and professional sports. I know all in the south, college
football is bigger than the NFL. You see fans pulling for Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Florida,
etc. College football is huge in the south! Pulling for your team can express your love,
for the sports world and sports industry. There is no way in my mind that I could leave the sports
industry. I feel that I would not by myself if I did not do anything related to sports in my life. My
grandfather and I always keep up with Clemson athletics, especially football. It brings me and
my grandfather that special relationship we have had since I was a little kid. I also have recently
gained some experience in the sport industry, working as an equipment manager for the Coastal
Carolina Football team. I have been working for the team since February and I plan to work with
the team in the upcoming 2019 season. This opportunity has allowed me to show off my
leadership, teamwork, my communication skills between co-workers, and of course my love for
the world of sports. This job has required hard work and determination, even at six in the
morning. The grind is real. This has given me experience with handling football equipment as
well as the other skills I listed above. I have played football, basketball, and baseball since I was
six years old. So, sports were a year-round thing for me. While playing these sports, I was also

able to maintain a 4.75 GPA through my high school career and taking honors and AP classes.
With all of this, I would feel the best thing for me would be to work in a college athletics or in
the professional athletics. I believe that I have a good amount of knowledge for this area and
Overall, athletics is by far one of the most important parts of my life, besides my family
and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sports impact my life on a daily basis. I know that I can be
strong in the athletic department with the skills I have possessed over my lifetime. With personal
experience, my passion and teamwork, I believe these (along with other skills) will allow me to
work very well with co-workers and also those who bring in athletics in their everyday lives.
