Nurse : "Good morning, Sir. I am Nurse Rizky, I am in charge of Melati Hospital

this morning. Previously, is this really Mr. Samuel 37 years old, right?”

Patient : “Yes right, Nurse.”

Nurse : “Oh yeah, can I help you, Sir? Are there any complaints you feel that you
came to this hospital?”

Patient : “This Nurse, I recently feel coughing constantly, shivering fever, no

appetite, sometimes if at night I feel excessive sweating, not as usual.”

Nurse : “How long have you felt it?”

Patient : “Since 3 weeks ago, Nurse.”

Nurse : “Is there anything you feel besides?”

Patients : “Cough with sputum, often coughing with blood. Often my chest hurt,
Nurse.”

Nurse : “Is the pain in your chest going on all the time?”

Patient : “Almost happens constantly, Nurse. Because my chest feels pain when
breathing and when I cough. It's very disturbing to my activities, Nurse.”

Nurse : “Do you have a history of the same disease before?”

Patient : “Never, Nurse.”

Nurse : “So it seems you are now suffering from symptoms of TB or in the
general public known as a bloody cough.”

Patient : (shocked). “Is that so, Nurse?”

Nurse : “Yes sir. Does your family have the same diseases as you feel?”

Patient : “No, nurse. To my knowledge only I have this disease at home.”

Nurse : “So far, what drug do you give when the relapse?”
Patient : “Usually I give Paracetamol and regular cough medicine, which I bought
at a nearby store.”

Nurse : “Oh, are you a heavy smoker?”

Patient : “No, nurse. I just spent 7 cigarettes a day.”

Nurse : “Hmm .. If I can know how environmental conditions in your house?”

Patient : “A little dirty, Nurse, because my residence is in densely populated

settlements and most people there are active smokers.”

Nurse : “Oh so, yes maybe that's one of the factors causing you to get symptoms
of TB disease.”

Patient : “Yes Nurse, I also do not understand if I have symptoms of tuberculosis.

Maybe a little explanation about TB disease?”

Nurse : “Tuberculosis (TB), also known as TB abbreviation, is a lung infectious

disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The disease is transmitted from active
tuberculosis patients who cough and secrete small droplets of saliva and are inhaled by
healthy people who do not have immunity to the disease.”

Patient : “What are the signs that a person is infected with tuberculosis just as I do
now?”

Nurse : “Yes sir. Coughing for more than 3 weeks can be accompanied by the
blood of one of the symptoms of TB disease.”

Patient : “Does everyone who experienced coughing up blood means suffering

from tuberculosis?”
Nurse : “Not necessarily, because coughing up blood can be caused by various
reasons”
Patients : “Tuberculosis is spread through any media?”
Nurses : “Through the sparks that come out with sputum when coughing, it could
be through the dust, instrument eat / drink that contains TB germs”
Patient : “Are people who have been cured of TB disease can be contracted
again?”
Nurse : “It can, because after recovering from tuberculosis there is no lifelong
immunity”
Patient : “Can TB disease be cured completely?”
Nurse : “Able to follow the advice of health workers to take medication
regularly”
Patient : “Then what should I do in the treatment of this TB disease, Nurse?”
Nurse : “Actually, the healing period of TBC is different for each person and
depends on the health condition of the person and the severity of tuberculosis
experienced. The condition of the person will generally start to improve and tuberculosis
stopped transmitting after taking antibiotics for 2 weeks. But to ensure total recovery,
people with tuberculosis should take antibiotics given by the doctor for 6 months. If the
person does not take the prescription medication or stop taking it before the recommended
time, TB bacteria can not disappear completely even if the person feels their condition is
improving. Infected TB infection also has the potential to become resistant to antibiotics.
If this happens, TB will become more dangerous and difficult to treat so that the healing
period will be much longer.”

Patient : “Could exposed to TB disease if we live in a clean environment?”

Nurses : “The possibility of contracting we will still be there, because we live not
only in our own Neighborhood.”
Patient : “How does our attitude in the house when there are family members who
suffer from tuberculosis?”
Nurses : “Bring the patient to the doctor to get treatment on a regular basis.”
Patients : “Pattern of life how should we have to avoid the disease tuberculosis?”
Nurses : “Healthy lifestyle is the key, because we do not know when we can be
exposed to TB germs.”
Patient : “For prevention, what can I do, Nurse?”

Nurse : “So, always keep your mouth shut when sneezing, coughing or laughing.
Can also use a mask, if using tissue immediately discarded after use, do not throw sputum
indiscriminately, make sure your house has good air circulation by opening the doors and
windows for fresh air and sunlight can enter, stay at home and do not sleep together with
others until At least a few weeks after treatment.”
Patient : “Oh so so, Nurse. Yes I understand.”

Nurse : “Yes sir. In the meantime I will prescribe antibiotics to you for the
treatment process. But later in the treatment process, you will feel some side effects such
as nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, jaundice, dark urine, fever, rashes, and itching
of the skin.”

Patient : “Good Nurse, thank you.”

Nurse : “It's the same. Get well soon. If there is no change, you can return to this
hospital.”

Patient : “Well nurse, thank you”

Nurse : “Yes sir. Oh yes, for taking antibiotic prescription you can take it in the
Dispensary.”

Patient : “At the Dispensary yes, Nurse. Where is that?”

Nurse : “After you get out of this polyclinic, you turn left and then walk on
until you find the elevator on your left. Then turn right and you just walk straight until
you find the toilet. The dispensary is located on the left side of the toilet. Exactly after
the toilet. Do you understand?”

Patient : “Yeah understand, Nurse. But I want to go to the canteen first to buy
drinks. Where is it, Nurse?”

Nurse : “Once you get out of this room, you'll see the street in front of this
room. Then you walk straight until you find the room on the left. It's a canteen.”

Patient : “Oh yes, Nurse. Thank you.”

Nurse : “Yeah. But before you go to the dispensary, you can go to the cashier
first to make up for the medicine. Do you understand the place?”

Patient : “Hehe, sorry, Nurse. I do not understand the place.”

Nurse : “Yeah it's okay, Sir. Later after you from the canteen, you can go
straight up to find the admission room on the left. The cashier is in front of the
admission room.”

Patient : “Oh yes, thank you very much, Nurse.”

Nurse : “Yes it is.”

Patient : “So after I redeemed this antibiotic prescription at the cashier and then
to the dispensary, I walked to the canteen then turned left, until I found the polyclinic
then turned left, then walked on until I found the elevator on the left. After that turn left,
walk straight up to find the toilet. The dispensary is to the left of the toilet. Exactly after
the toilet. Is it true, nurse?”

Nurse : “Yes, that's right, Sir.”

Patient : “Then let me excuse myself, Nurse. Thank you for your time.”

Nurse : “Yes sir, if you are still confused, you can go to my room. And do not
forget after receiving antibiotics, drink must be regularly well, sir. Get well soon.”
