SANGGUNIANG BAYAN OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN NICOLAS, ILOCOS NORTE HELD AT

“RESOLUTION NO. 2016-32

A RESOLUTION EARNESTLY REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE 2nd

ILOCOS NORTE ENGINEERING DISTRICT OF THE DEAPRTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH), TO FINANCIALLY ASSIST THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN
NICOLAS, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO MILLION FIVE
HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (P2,500,000.00) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FOOT
BRIDGE AT BRGY. 21, SAN AGUSTIN, SAN NICOLAS, ILOCOS NORTE.

WHEREAS, it is imperative for the Local Government Unit to draw the road map aimed
to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, pursuant to Section 16 of the Local Government
Code of 1991;

WHEREAS, consistent with the National Government’s program of poverty alleviation,

the municipality has adopted plans and programs to address the needs of the farmers to
enhance their earning capacity;

WHEREAS, component of this program is the construction of roads and bridges which if
implemented will necessary facilitate the transport of Farm produce directly to the market, thus
mounting the income of these farm cultivators;

WHEREAS, most of these plans remain unimplemented due to the inadequate

resources of the Municipal Government, hence the town is constrained to seek the assistance of
National Government agencies tasked for the implementation of the agricultural program;

WHEREFORE, be it RESOLVED as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan

assembled in session to earnestly request the 2ND Ilocos Norte Engineering District of the
DPWH to financially assist the Municipality of San Nicolas for the construction of a foot bridge at
Brgy. 21, San Agustin, this municipality.

RESOLVED FURTHER to transcribe copies of this resolution and furnish same to the
Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Second District and
others concerned for their information and considerate action.

On motion of Member Aladine T. Santos, duly seconded, the foregoing resolution is

unanimously approved.
