AIMED TO ACHIEVE GREEN BUILDING TO:

Reduce energy consumption.
Reduce water consumption and efficient water
management.
Efficient use of resources during construction.
Reduce construction waste.
Reduce destruction in ecology.
The following strategies were adopted to reduce the building impact on
the natural environment:
SUSTAINABLE SITE PLANNING:
• Existing trees preserved and protected.
• Building designed with due respect to existing contours — minimum cutting and filling of soil.
• Proper timing of construction ensured to minimize soil erosion and pollution.

REDUCING WATER CONSUMPTION:

• 50 % reduction in building water consumption by use

of low flow fixtures.

• Reduction in water consumption during construction

Reducing energy consumption (compared to GRIHA benchmarks) while maintaining
occupant comfort:

• For achieving visual comfort

— External shading and efficient glazing to reduce solar heat gain and have glare-free
daylight.

Building is designed with 40% glazing area by using glass with low solar heat gain coefficient
an maximum transmission and with 2 cut outs to give more lighting thus reducing the
conventional energy demand.
Lighting is designed optimally.
— ECBC compliant energy-efficient artificial lighting design. — Multi sensors compatible to
DALI-based dimming of light system.

• For achieving thermal comfort

— ECBC compliant building envelop to reduce cooling loads in AC spaces. Thermal comfort
levels in non-AC spaces achieved.
— Centralized air conditioning through variable refrigerant flow technology. Facility of
controlling each indoor unit centrally as well as individually, based on occupancy censor.

With above measures the power saving is to an extent of 20% is achieved compared to
similar buildings.
RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES INSTALLED ON SITE:
• Installed capacity of solar energy to meet space conditioning and internal lighting loads: 38.63 KW.
• Installed 12 nos LED solar street light with programmable day light sensing controller.

Solar modules arranged on roof top are giving double benefits.

On one side, it is attaining solar energy approximately 15% of total consumption to the building and on other
side giving shade to terrace thereby reducing the requirement of energy for cooling the top forth floor.

USE OF LOW-ENERGY/GREEN MATERIALS:

• Fly ash blocks used in block work for better insulation

Building constructed with RCC frame structure of G+4.

Saint gobain glass-Nano series — Green Aura - ET425 series is used

SGG Evo is a cutting-edge product in single glazing that offers dual advantages of solar protection and
thermal insulation in single glazing applications. It has relatively low internal reflection, higher light
transmission, a low solar factor and U-value.

Double glazing is used for first floor area which is having Air-conditioning to minimize energy consumption.
Paints containing low voc, low conductance 20 % and High reflectance 80% were used.
