 Proposed Topic: Orange peel used as a Hand sanitizer

Abstract:
The researchers' main purpose in conducting this study is to help to create a product which
is cheaper and could be used as the same quality as through the use of an orange peels.
This study is also aiming to help the people who do not have enough money to buy expensive
hand sanitizer.

Chapter I: THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction:
As you can see, whenever the people's hands used to be dirty, people used to go in search
of a good soap and water that cleanses their hand. This is used to become a great
inconvenience especially when traveling. Water spills and soap are not getting rinse properly
and of course, water wastage, all of these factors contributed to the discovery of something
called hand sanitizer.

Background of the Study:

The researchers chose the citrus fruit to make it into a citrus hand sanitizer. Another reason
why the researchers chose this study because of the Vitamin C containing from the citrus fruit
which can help you from common illnesses like colds, cough, etc. Citrus fruit are also easy to
find and cheap. You can easily find them from local grocery stores or markets.

Statement of the Problem:

These are the following need problem that is needed to be solved by the researchers:
a.) Does it have a side effects?
b.) How does an orange peels can be used as an alternative hand sanitizer?
c.) Are orange peels have a potential as an alternative hand sanitizer?
d.) How effective is the citric hand sanitizer compared with other products?
e.) Does the citrus hand sanitizer can make hands dry?
f.) How cheap it will be compared to other hand sanitizer?
Significance of the study:
The people will benefit from this hand sanitizer, doing this kind of research study is helping
everyone to create a product that would be cheaper. It could lessen our expenses in buying
expensive hand sanitizers. It can be use by everyone as a knowledge of what can happen if
they would know all about the study.

The citrus hand sanitizer can be significant by helping our hands to be clean and germ
free. Instead of using soap water, we can use this hand sanitizer in traveling, in school, in
office, etc. whenever and wherever.

Methodology:

Materials needed:
• Blender
• Knife
• Bowl
• Container
• Ethyl alcohol
• Oil
• Aloe vera
• Orange
• Whisk/mixer

Procedure:
1. Peel the orange and put it all in one container.
2. Use the blender to cut it into smaller pieces.
3. Convert all of the orange peels into a bowl.
4. Put the aloe vera into the bowl and mix it using the whisk.
5. Add the alcohol and oil and mix it together using the whisk or mixer.
6. Transfer it to the container and seal until use.
Scope and limitations of the Study:

This study covers how an orange peels can be used as a hand sanitizer and to know the
benefits of it when it is used to be a hand sanitizer, the side effects of this hand sanitizer if it
has an efficacy or none. This study also assessed the usage of hand sanitizer in our daily lives.
Other than that will not cover topics beyond the scope of the research.

Conclusions:

The researchers conclude that citrus hand sanitizer was confidenlty success because of the
presence of ethyl alcohol that made it more disinfectant and the ingredients used to make the
hand sanitizer were readily available to and easily accessible in the market.
Recommendations:

After the study, the group have conducted, the researchers respectfully recommend some
instructions for better results.

a.) It is optional to put an oil for the sake of your nose not to be irritated with the smell of the
original essence.

b.) You should put more aloe vera than the ethyl alcohol to make the hand sanitizer jelly.
