Goal Setting and YOU

Some of the personal goals I wish to achieve are to pass all my classes and
be healthier. I want to pass all my classes because I want to prove to myself
anything is possible. I currently work full time six days a week sometimes by
day sometimes by night. So it is a bit challenging sometimes to find the
motivation to complete assignments. It is tough because sometimes I will have
to sacrifice a bit of sleep to complete assignments either at day or night. Due
to the fact that I do not have a fixed schedule it is hard for me to eat the
correct food. When I work early I sometimes leave without eating breakfast
and when I come home I eat whatever I find which is not healthy at all which is
why i want to change my ways. One of the short term goals I will set for myself
is to use my schedule to figure out when I have the chance to study for my
classes and use that time to do nothing but that. My short term goal number
two will be to not procrastinate. Finally goal number three will be to plan my
meals a day or to in advance make foods before hand so I do not just eat
anything I find. The start date of my goals will be tomorrow Wednesday the 6th
.

First Steps in Designing a Workout

With this assignment I found that my maximum heart rate is 199. My target
heart rate is 130 beats per minute. My lower lever target zone is at 119 beats
per minute and mi higher level target heart rate zone is at 149 beats per
minute. Due to the fact that I would like to improve my fitness I have chosen
the second goal for exercise.I am not really physically active the only activity I
get is at work but that is not exercise. While exercising at my lower heart rate
level I felt calm and yet a bit tired because I am not really used to exercising
when. When the five minutes were up and now had to exercise in my higher
rate level it got a bit challenging although not impossible. I am really looking
forward to begin exercising a bit more because even if it was just for a little bit
of time I felt good after this assignment. I also felt accomplished and proud of
myself.
The Importance of Flexibility

I personally have not had any back problems yet but I have seen relatives
have back problems. The way I have seen them try to ease the pain is by
either taking pain killers or pain relieving cream.I believe the reason people
miss work due to back pain more than any other health condition is because it
affects mobility. It is hard for people to go on with their job duties while their
back is hurting . Any sort of movement can make the pain even worse. The
best times to stretch for me are in the morning, before getting to work, before
a workout, and after a workout. The best sleeping posture for you back is
sleeping on your back although many people do no like sleeping on their
back.I do believe shoes can affect back pain. There are all types of shoes and
some of them are really flat and not give any support to you feet which can the
lead to back pain. The best type of shoes to wear are shoes that you feel
comfortable in have cushion and give support to your feet. Sometimes when
sitting to long there are times my back starts to hurt. I believe the best way to
prevent this is to sit in a well cushioned seat with a good posture and stand up
and stretch every once in a while. Stretching and flexibility are different.
Stretching improves the flexibility. I believe flexibility is an ignored health
related component because we are not aware of how flexibility is present
throughout our whole day while performing most of our tasks.
Identifying and Understanding YOUR Stressors

The most common stressors for me are school, homework, work, money
and not getting enough sleep. The biggest stressors in my life today are
work and homework.I work all day come home and only have a few hours to
do homework i feel like I really have no time. These stressors will probably
not continue after college because hopefully I won't have any homework
and I will just have to worry about going to work. I usually know I am under
stress when my head starts to hurt or I get in a bad mood quickly and
everything bugs me. Also another way I identify my stress is when I begin to
procrastinate. Some ways to reduce my stress is pending time with my
family about things other than work or schoolwork. Another way I reduce my
stress is just by taking a walk or relaxing in my bed.

Fast Food Discussion

No, I believe my views on fast food has stayed the same. The reason I believe
this is because I had already seen two of these videos back in highschool, and
I since then know how bad and harmful fast food really is. The way I may limit
intaking a lot of fast food will be making more meals at home and encouraging
my family to eat at home instead of going out to eat. I believe CEOs should
actually feed their customers what they say they are feeding them.
My favorite fast food restaurant is In n Out. There is just one in n out
restaurant in my city as well as in the city next to me.I believe there is just one
restaurant per city because the community makes healthier choices and they
wouldn't make enough business putting up more restaurants.
I chose to put together a healthy fast food meal from Chick-fil-a. The best
option was the Grilled Market Salad with Grilled Nuggets no dressing. The
reason I chose this is because it is one of the items in the menu that has the
least sodium, it contains 610 mg while other items are over the thousands. It is
only 350 calories and contains vegetables and chicken. Also saturated fat is at
3.5 grams which is not that high.
