Lesson Plan

I.Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are able to:
a. Define what verb is.
b. Identify verbs in various sentences.
c. Perform a song containing action words.
II. Subject Matter: Verb
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greeting
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Review
B. Motivation
The teacher will show to the class different action words. The class will then
perform each word being shown.

Activity 1. Forming sentences!

The teacher will group the class into 4 and each group will pick only 1 word in the
words presented in the first activity and they will make 1 sentence.

C. Analyses
1. What have you observed in our activity?
2. What do you call those words that you have performed?

D. Abstraction

Verb- a word that characteristically is the grammatical center of a predicate and


expresses an act, occurrence, or mode of being, that in various languages is
inflected for agreement with the subject, for tense, for voice, for mood, or for
aspect, and that typically has rather full descriptive meaning and characterizing
quality but is sometimes nearly devoid of these especially when used as an
auxiliary or linking verb.
Examples:
Anthony is throwing the football.
She accepted the job offer.
He thought about his stupid mistake in the test.
John visited his friend for a while and then went home.
The dog ran across the yard.
She left in a hurry.
She yelled when she hit her toe.
The cat sat by the window.
I'll play this song on my guitar.
He hit a home run at the last game
E. Application
The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups and will give them time to practice
their dance. The students will have to interpret the song that the teacher will play.

IV. Evaluation
Direction: underline the correct verb in the sentence.

12. The teacher reads a book to her students then asks them questions about the
story.

V. Assignment
In your notebook, enumerate the types of verb and give 5 examples for each type.
