Final Reflection Grading: 15 points for each answer = 30 total points (One paragraph for
each question about 5 sentences each)

1. What is the connection between the first chart: “Rules”, and the second chart: “Routines
and Procedures”? In other words, do you think clearly organized and maintained Routines
and Procedures if observed daily in a classroom leads to an improvement in following the
rules?

The connection between rules and routines and procedures would be that they go
hand in hand. Routines and procedures help students get in a daily routine which helps them
succeed in doing the right thing. Doing the same thing over and over again leaves no room
for students to misbehave. When a student gets rewarded they feel good about themselves
and want to keep excelling. If there is a routine and expectations are clearly outlined it gives
the student a better chance for success.

2. Also, some students may think that the idea of ‘rules’ in a negative light. How can a
teacher justify having rules in her/his classroom to students with such a thought? How can
rules actually shape a positive experience in the classroom?

Having rules in a classroom is a necessity. Without rules things could go bad in a

matter of minutes, student’s need structure and that’s what rules do. Rules allow fun to

happen in the classroom. Without rules students won’t listen to the teacher and may start
fighting with other students. With no rules things in the classroom would never get done.
