DIALOGUE ABOUT HOW CAN FOOD HELP THE BRAIN?

ARE SOME FOODS BETTER FOR THE

BRAIN THAN OTHERS? DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY YOU EAT?

ABCD : Hi, ____!

ABCD : Hi, too ____.

ABCD : Can I ask you something? I’ve been wondering about does food can

really help the brain? And are some foods better for the brain than

others?

BCDA : That’s a lot of question but let me answer one by one. Brain, as the

control center of your body, it's in charge of keeping your heart beating

and lungs breathing and allowing you to move, feel and think. Yes, food

can help our brain by eating healthy and nutritious foods because it will

help our memory, body and focus more longer and effective.

ABCD : What kind of food you refer?

ABCD : One of the brain foods is fatty fish. This type of fish includes salmon,

trout and sardines, which are all rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids.

About 60% of your brain is made of fat, and half of that fat is the

omega-3 kind. Your brain uses omega-3s to build brain and nerve cells,

and these fats are essential for learning and memory.

ABCD : I’ve heard about the fatty fish thing. What about the foods that better

for the brain than others?

ABCD : Well like I said before, in order to get a healthy brain we must eat

healthy and nutritious foods. There is tons of healthy food out there.

Other than fatty fish, you can also eat fruits that rich of antioxidant

such as blueberries. Blueberries provide numerous health benefits,

including some that are specifically for your brain. Antioxidants act

against both oxidative stress and inflammation, conditions that may

contribute to brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases.

ABCD : So that case, I’ll be starting to eat healthy foods from now on. Then,

does it really matter what time of day you eat?

ABCD : In my opinion, how much you eat is more important than when you eat

it. It’s because we do need to match the amount of energy we take in to

the amount of energy we use. If you consistently take in more than you

use, the average will accumulate as body fat. I figure that if you’re eating

the right amount of food for your body, it shouldn’t matter too much

when you eat it. But timing may play more of a role than I’ve previously

credited especially if you’re trying to lose some weight.

ABCD : Now I understand about that. If we want to lose some weight, we must

eat properly and in time. Thanks for answering my question. Im really

thankful.

ABCD : You’re welcome! Im glad you ask.
