LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is a high strength wood product made from
wood veneers bonded under heat and pressure and can be used for structural
applications. It is made up of multiple layers of wood veneers pasted with
adhesives. Prior to lamination, the veneers are dried and then assembled with
the grain in all the layers aligned longitudinally. This makes LVL stronger,
straighter and more uniform than solid timber and overcomes some of timber’s
natural limitations such as strength reducing knots. This gives orthotropic
properties (different mechanical properties against different axes) in a similar
way to the properties of sawn timber. The added durability of being an
engineered wood product means LVL is less prone to shrinking or warping. LVL
can be sawn and drilled using regular carpenter tools.
Where is it Used?

Introducing Duro LVL Frames -
Duro combines the experience and the expertise of being in the trade for more
than 55 years and offers yet again the “Durability” with the introduction of
Duro Frames made of LVL .Duro LVL Frames combines the versatility of the
modern technology to bring out a product which gives an effortless combination
of strength and aesthetic value.
IS: 4021 – for Timber Door, Window & Ventilator Frames permits the use of LVL
(conforming to IS 14616) in manufacturing frames.
1. Dimensionally stable
2. Resists shrinking & warping
3. Sustainable & cost Effective
4. Manufactured to any length
5. Better screw holding capacity than wood
6. Supports heavier loads and spans longer distance
7. High Structural Strength compared to structural steel
8. Uniformity
9. Wastage is minimal since whole log is used to manufacture
10. High tensile strength relative to sawn timber
11. Easy to cut, nail & Install
