INTRODUCTION:
An audio amplifier is an electronic device that increases the strength (amplitude)
of audio signals that pass through it.
An audio amplifier amplifies low-power audio signals to a level which is suitable
for driving loud speakers.
It increases the strength of an audio signal by increasing its amplitude.
Components Required:
Transistors (2N3904 x 2)
Resistors (6.8k, 220k, 10k, 100k, 1k x 2)
Capacitors ( 1µF, 10µF x 2)
Battery (9V)
Speaker
Breadboard
Microphone
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:
SOFTWARE SIMULATION:
WORKING:
• The circuit totally has three components microphone, power amplifier and
a speaker.
• Microphone gets the input in DC audio form and converts it into electrical
signal.
• The obtained weak electrical signal is then passed through the amplification
part.
• The voltage amplifier works such that it produces strong output at the end.
• The design parameters of an audio amplifier include frequency response,
noise and distortion and gain.
• The voltage gain=v(out)/v(in)
• The gain of the audio power amplifier is set as low as possible, if the audio
of the power amplifier’s gain is set too high, then it amplifies the noise
floor, along with the actual wanted signal.
APPLICATION:
• The important applications include public address systems and theatrical
and concerts sound and reinforcement systems.
• Most consumer electronic sound products such as tv’s, home theatre, toys
etc.
• The sound card in a pc, every home theatre system comprises of many
audio amplifiers.
HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATION:
CONCLUSION:
Audio amplifier is executed in both software and hardware and the output of the
sound signal given is observed.
