Description

Many motorcycle have turbocharger which can boost the motorcycle


faster but turbocharge usage on the motorcycle now days is
somewhat limited due air pressure loss during the process. There
are several methods have been proposed in order to overcome this
matters. Perhaps the most popular of these is the simplest is to
design the runner properly. This project is basically aim to
design a Turbocharge Runners in providing a uniform air-fuel
mixture to engine performance while increasing the air flow intake
for intake manifold or runners. The power of the engine is greatly
depending on the amount of air that can be delivered through the
intake. For this reason, modern motorcycle has variable intake
manifolds where special tuning valves alter the air flow through
the manifold depending on the engine speed and power demand.

my name is Mohd Wardi.. Today I would like to presenting on my
project proposal.. So before i start, I would to share some
information regarding on how I get this project tittle. It was
given to me by my supervisor that is MR Khairul Shahril , he very
interested to study about micro turbocharge so he decided to build

For the project and research that are being conducted are on
design of runners in micro turbocharger in order to enhance the
engine performance.
When it comes to manifold runner design there is actually a lot
more to it then just connecting all of the exhaust ports together
to feed the turbo. The reality is there is a lot more physics at
play. The exhaust flow, pressure, and runner length are all very
important in deciding the characteristics that make up a
turbocharged motorcycle.
Important of runner in designing new concept is to increases the
efficiency of the engine performance.
But somehow the efficiency is not fully use due to many factors
such as the engine misfires and decrease in power, acceleration,
and fuel economy

From this factor I hv comeout with problem statement
turbocharge usage on the motorcycle now days is somehow limited
due air pressure loss and volumetric efficiency low during the
combustion process this is because the each part in this
motorcycle not perform very well
There are several method have been proposed in order to overcome
this matters. Perhaps the most popular of these is the simplest
is to design the runner with Venturi shape. The Venturi shape or
Venturi effect is a case where fluid flows through a tube that is
narrow. The velocity of the fluid increases as it flows through
the narrower tube while the pressure decreases, due to
conservation of energy.
According to Bernoulli's principle, the flow speed of a fluid is
inversely proportional to its static pressure.

From the problem statement I have come out with 3 objective so
1st objective is to design conventional runner and Venturi runner,
we want to make look different by design two type of runners
2nd objective is to analyse the performance of each runners, mean
that I will colleting the data pressure loss or velocity increase
or decrease for example

And then the last one is to compare …. By achieving 1st and 2nd
objective i can decide which one is more better in automobile
industry

For my project scope 1st on,…. Second is on ……… the 3rd is on
the software that will be use

Better volumetric efficiency means more air; more air means more
fuel can be burned; more fuel burned means bigger explosion;
bigger explosion means more torque.
Volumetric efficiency depends on intake & exhaust design and valve
overture. Unless there is a variable design (variable valve timing
for example), the system is usually tuned for a certain rpm range,
hence the peak torque at a certain rpm. As rpm increases, the
intake and/or exhaust system can have choked, not being able to
fill completely the cylinder, hence a drop in volumetric
efficiency.
