Zostel Volunteer Program 2018

Terms and Conditions

This is only an MoU (Memorandum of understanding) between a volunteer who wishes to stay at Zostel property and
wishes to help the property in lieu of free stay and food. The terms are as follows:

1. Late reporting to work is highly discouraged. The shift timings once decided mutually with the property
manager will usually not be altered unless there is a pressing need at either end. Please confirm your
shift timings within the first three days of joining and make sure to abide by the same.

2. Please make sure that the tasks that we agree to complete at the beginning of the internship are
brought to a logical conclusion. You are expected to primarily report to the property manager and also to
the Zostel central team. Refer to confirmation mail for expected tasks.

3. Your contribution to the hostel will be reviewed on a weekly basis, with feedback given for
improvement/modification. In extreme instances of continued under performance/ non performance, we
reserve the right to ask you to leave in the middle of the volunteering period 1 day notice.

4. Your performance would be evaluated every week on your ability to convert excellent customer
experiences at the hostel to quality reviews online. Also on the amount and quality of content created for
central team.

5. Please note that we expect you to cooperate with the management, help them in daily operations,
interact with guests, organise activities, create social media content for the property and share it with
central team, generate reviews and give out volunteering engagements for a minimum of 30 Days,
extendable with mutual consent. However, please note that in case you decide to end the internship
before 30 days, you will be required to pay for the bed at a flat rate of INR 700/night.

6. We shall provide free coed dorm stay and only food prepared for the management. You will have to
pay for the food ordered at the hostel cafe or during hostel activities. You shall be compensated only for
the travelling cost while organising any activity for the hostel.

7. We cannot guarantee female volunteers a bed in female dorm as it solely depends on the availability .
