Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

In this project students will be able to pick the game they want to present on so that they are comfortable
and have a choice in the topic area. They will also have a bunch of freedom in creating the video. They will
have the option to use original footage or to use clips from the internet as long as they are properly cited and
credited. They will also have options on how they want to share their video. They can present the video to the
whole class and them have them go practice and play the game. They can create QR codes or zeetings
presentation where students do station work or preliminary work on their own and then get into game play.

Lesson idea implementation:

The students will be partnered up and given this project at the end of the semester after having been through
several game units. Partners will be instructed to choose a game that they enjoy or interest them. With that
game they will think about the critical skills needed to play and some offensive and defensive tactics. They will
then use Adobe Spark to create a video in which they present these critical skills and tactics. The video will be

between 3-5 minutes long. They will have one week to create it. They will upload their finished video to
seesaw using my account.
They will then have an assigned presentation date that they will share the video with their classmates and
facilitate skill practice and game play. They will lead the class in 1-2 activities that are needed to learn the
specific skills of the game and then they will get into game play. They will have to go over 1-3 skills and 2-4
tactics. This will differentiate their learning. To conclude this lesson I will give a quiz on all the sports that were
covered by their peers. I will then give video feedback on the seesaw video they upload.
Importance of technology:
Creating a video is imperative to this project because of the integration of technology and creativity in
learning. Without this technology students could just relay the content in person through demonstration on
instruction but it would not be as interactive and engaging. Seesaw and Zeetings are two forms of technology
that could also be used.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:

Possible internet safety would be strangers being able to view access their videos and leave comments for
them to see. I would minimize this risk by making the students post their videos to a private site or at least
password protected sites. I would let the parents and administrators know that their videos were private and
unable to be accessed by the public. This would be a safe policy for more students to follow.
Reflective Practice:
This idea could impact student learning by giving them a better understand of lifetime sports and continuing
play into adulthood. It could also give them a better understanding of how to be more tactically sound when
playing. To extend this lesson we could share these videos with other schools in our community for students
to view and learn from. You could also interact through the comments with others to learn deeper and make
social connections through sports.
