1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Warisan Sitaning cafe is a small cafe that is based on market orientation. Market
orientation is a company philosophy that focused on discovering and meeting the needs and
desires of its customers. Warisan Sitaning Cafe are selling the traditional foods and wastern
foods which is famous among Malaysian.

This cafe is located in the center of the city which is very strategic places. There are 6
workers for morning shift which is start at 8.30am until 5.30pm in the cafe and 6 workers in
the night shift which is start at 5.30pm until 12.30am. They are selling around 40 kinds of
well-known traditional foods that is made manually by workers. The owner is using its own
recipe in making the foods that made it become special and delicious compared to other. One
of the recipes made by the owner is sambal for nasi lalap and nasi ayam penyet which is one
of the special menu at the cafe. Since the café was established in 2016, it become well-known
to lots of people, besides great attention is given in marketing and customer service to retain
current customers by increasing their customer loyalty.

Therefore, we are required to obtain the information about the business that we choose
as for our case study. At the end of this case study, we are providing the suggested solution
regarding the problem arises in the business that will make them improve in the future.
2.0 INTRODUCTION

As we learned the subject of Entrepreneurship(ENT300) in this semester(September


2017 - January 2018), it help us to defined and highlighted the nature and purposes of this
project. Business may be defined as an economic activity involving the purchase, production
and sale of good and services with a motive of earning profits by satisfying human needs in
society.

The nature of business are give provision of goods and services to the public. The nature
of this projects is to gain knowledge in entrepreneurship and how it actually work in the real
world. This subject has made us to carry out a case study to observe a business where we
believe that the owner own a potential business. Next is to help us experiencing the
environment of interviewing the person who is in the higher position.

By doing that, it help us to increase our self-confidence by asking several question that
awkwardly and help ourselves out from our comfort zone and that actually help us to complete
this task. Not only it made us to be independent, but also help us to give our fully commitment
to our project member by co-operating to each other and it strengthen up our relationship as
a group members. Last but not least, the purpose of this study was to enable students to gain
exposure on entrepreneurial activities directly.
3.0. COMPANY INFORMATION

i. Company Background

Warisan Sitaning café was established on 2016. This business has been exist for almost
3 years in Sabah. It is located infront of University Apartment at Jalan Sepanggar. The owner
of the business is Nabsiah Haji Jamil.

At first, she was not the citizens of Sabah but since she has been 60 years living in Sabah,
she has become a citizens of Sabah until now. She started open the business with support
from her family including her husband. This business has their own specialties that made it
to be popular among society at in and outside Sabah . The specialties of this business is the
sale of “Tradisional Sabahan Food” in Malaysia.

Another specialties is the traditional foods is based on Pn. Nabsiah own recipes. All the
traditional foods was made in her cafe as they do not have their own factory and beside this
is another addition to the specialties of Warisan Sitaning cafe where Pn. Nabsiah uses her
own skills and recipes in making the product.

As the entity has become well-known to the people in Kota Kinabalu, the taste of every
types of traditional foods also has been recognized too. One of the types of traditional foods
that they produce are , ambuyat, sup ikan mihun, nasi ayam penyet, nasi katok,nasi gondrong,
nasi goring Warisan Sitaning café where they also using the traditional environment in their
shop that would attract their customers’ attention such as workers and students. For any order

Warisan Sitaning cafe is a product oriented business. They produce many kind of
Tradisional foods. For example, ambuyat, sup ikan mihun, nasi ayam penyet, nasi katok,nasi
gondrong, nasi goring Warisan Sitaning café and such.
