QUESTIONS
Students are required to read these instructions carefully, before preparing all necessary answer
for the following questions.

1. Describe heat transfer in building.

2. Heat can be transferred from hot to cold condition in 3 basic ways. Explain these
THREE
(3) methods of heat gains for a building.

3. Calculate the U-value for the cavity wall comprises of 100mm outer brickwork, 80mm
air gap, 100mm inner blockwork and 20mm plaster. Each of thermal conductivity value
for the components and thermal resistances are indicated in Table 1.

3cm.
3. Please attach the list of references in your report (books, journals, etc.). Avoid using
course notes as your major reference
