Panerathon Clinical
I observed a lot of people coming together for a great cause and putting all differences
aside for one common cause. Personally, I noticed all different sorts of people coming together
and walking or running. This is not only symbolic to show how much Breast Cancer awareness
means to people. The Panerathon even had a special meaning for me. Not only has my family
been through many types of cancer through the years but actually running the race meant a lot to
me. It shows that you are willing to donate your time, money, and body for random people. After
knowing what these cancer survivors go through I know it’s the absolute least I can do to run
this.
The Panerathon is not only a great symbol for Breast cancer awareness but it also
promotes the health of these people and many others. Walking, running, or just physical activity
in general is great for all people. It gets the blood circulation moving better throughout the body,
promotes better oxygenation, and is better for the body overall. For me personally as I said in the
first paragraph this race meant a lot to me. In the last year and a half, I have lost right around 80
pounds. At the last panerathon’s and ones in years past I wouldn’t have been able to actually run
the race. However, this year I ran the 2-mile race and completed it in a time that I was extremely
happy about. I am now a healthier individual and I plan this race to just be one small
The Joni Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center is a fantastic resource for many people
in the surrounding area. The Breast Care Center ensures that patients receive the proper
education, treatments, and that they are financially stable. This helps women detect possible
breast cancer earlier which in turn will help them. If a woman does have breast cancer this
foundation lets them get out ahead of the issue earlier. Instead of having to wait to hear about a

potentially life changing decision this foundation ensures that they know their issues earlier.
They also then help the women plan what to do and how they are going to pay for it. This
organization is a vital piece to the community where cancer grows more and more every single
year.
I learned that this is not just a race to some people. It means so much more than that and
the symbolism alone is amazing. For the survivors of breast cancer participating in the race and
completing it is a massive accomplishment and gives them something to look forward to. It
shows how much compassion and empathy people are capable of showing. It was a truly eye-
opening experience to see that many people come together for one cause together. Overall, I
absolutely enjoyed the race and can’t wait to participate again in the years to come.
