The Title of this story is Green Eggs and Ham that written by Dr. Seuss. It has 32
pages that colorful pictures or cartoon on it.
The story tells about an unnamed character who does not like green eggs and
ham and his adversary Sam-I-Am who challenged and asked him to eat the green eggs
and ham that he have been served, but the unnamed character did not like it.
Sam-I-am kept to persuade him for eating it. Also Sam-I-Am was asking where the
right place in order the unnamed character wanted to eat the green eggs and ham, but
the character keep did not want it. The story became a refrain Sam-I-Am persistently
followed his rival through an assortment of locations such as (in a house, in a box, in
a car, in a tree, on a train, in the dark, in the rain, on a boat) and dining partners (a
mouse, a fox, and a goat). With much effort finally, Sam-I-am have been success
persuade the character gave up and tried the dish, just made Sam “let him be” and
apparently found it quite tasty, then he got happily responding, "I do so like green
eggs and ham. Then the unnamed character said thanks to Sam-I-am and he want to
eat green eggs and ham again in a house, in a box, in a car, in a tree, on a train, in the
dark, in the rain, on a boat with a mouse, a fox, and a goat.
From the story, this story is very interesting and good for children because this
book has fantastic pictures or cartoon as illustrator that colorful on it. It can make the
children interested in read these story. Besides that, on the story has simple words so
the children can require the words for adding their own vocabulary in learning
English. Also in the story there are repeating words or sentence like “I do not like
them in...”, so the children or beginner can pronounce the spelling words regularly to
improve their pronunciation ability.
However, there are some deficiencies of this book, such as this book is not suit
for adults because there are has so many pictures or cartoon but lack of sentence in the
story. Also there is too many repeating words that make us bored and confused about
event or plot of the story. And this book uses too much of the same words repeatedly
so it's just like song lyrics and make the adults reader bored to read it.
But Overall, this story is very fascinating for you especially for Children and
beginner English. So I recommeded this book to Children as entertainment and for
learning English especially in adding vocabulary and improving your pronunciation.
On These book also has value that “Don't judge something just from the cover”.
