Mr. Savvy,

I’m writing this letter to inform you of my interest in your History Teacher position opening at
Payson High School. I reviewed the qualifications and job description on the
ArizonaEducationJobs.com website and I feel my skills and education make me eligible for this
job. More importantly, my love for teaching, history and Payson helps me to become a premier
candidate for this vital role in your school.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a great love for the events of human history. When I
was a boy my father and I would discuss ranging topics from US Presidents to State Capitals to
what he had taught in his American History class that day. Those discussions engendered a love
and passion in me that persists to this day. That love resulted in a pursuit of obtaining a degree in
education that would allow me to share my knowledge and experience with the learners of today.
Coming from a line of Arizona Public School’s educators, my father taught American History
and coached Basketball, my grandfather was an elementary school principal, my mother was a
high school physical education teacher, and my grandmother also taught in Arizona, has afforded
me the opportunity to assist in the education process. Throughout my young adulthood, I was
able to impact children’s lives by being allowed to assist my father in coaching and leading the
coaching efforts at a local youth program.
Arizona State University provided me with a degree in education, but more than that, it
introduced me to many technological tools that will enhance my classroom. The twenty-first
century learner is more engrained in the technological wonders of our time. The ability to use
tools like: screencasting, PowToons, Excel, coding, website development, and advanced
PowerPoint are vital to being an effective instructor in today’s classroom.
I’m looking forward to an interview with you about the History teaching position at Payson High
School. I am sure that my love for learning, strong educational background and my technological
