The kick-down switch also functions as a power-up switch in first gear. The
first time the kick-down switch is depressed it functions as a kick-down switch
and gear speed is reduced. When the machine is in E operation mode and
first gear, pressing the kick-down switch a second time changes the operation
mode to P allowing increased power for heavy digging operation. The
operation mode returns to E when machine gear speed changes or direction
changes to reverse.

steep slope.
It noticeably increases travel speed, particularly
when going uphill, thanks to lager tractive force.
At the same time, it eliminates converter losses
significantly reducing fuel consumption.

Higher cut-off pressure allows the transmission to
remain engaged at higher engine rpm / hydraulic
pressure for increased performance in ramp loading
and pilling up operations.

Lower cut-off pressure disengages the transmission

at lower rpm / hydraulic pressure.
The vehicle can be braked smoothly with less
shock when approach to dump truck.

operator. Less material spills during load & carry
operation. The loader can travel smoothly at
higher speed.

2-4. HIGH RELIABILITY & DURABILITY
(1) Torsionally resistant frames
The front and rear frames have high rigidity to absorb twisting and
bending loads. Both upper and lower center pivot bearing are tapered
roller bearings have high durability.
The structure is similar to those of large sized wheel loaders and the
reinforced loader linkage also ensures high rigidity.

(2) Komatsu components

All components within the power
train are all Komatsu-designed.
All of these component parts are
subject to highest quality
requirements and strict quality
control system.
The variable displacement
hydraulic pump and hydraulic
cylinders are also Komatsu-built
components.
