NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 6th September, 2000
GSE 708(E).-~In exercise of the powers asnferrsd by clause (g) of Sufo-teioii <2) of section 60 and section 198
read with clause (a) of Sab-section (2) of section 200 of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), the Central Government
hereby makes the following rules furthertoamend the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules, 1976, namely:—
I (1) These rules may be called the Indian Railways (Open Lmes)General (Second Amendment) Rules, 2000.
(2) They shall come into ibrce or* the date of their publication in the Official Gazette,
2. In the Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules, 1976, in Chapter in, in rule 3.38 :—
(i) the provision consisting of clauses (a), (b) and (c) shall be numbered as sub-rule (1);
(ii) after sub-rule (1) so numbered, Use following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely :—
"(2) When a runtwng line is blocked by a stabled load, wagon, vechicle or by a train which is to cross or give
precedence to another train or immediately after the arrival of a train at the station the points in rear on
double line sections and at either end on single line sections should be immediately set against the blocked
line except when shunting or any other movement is required to be done immediately in tliat direction on
that line."
