When first walking up to Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen, not much is really expected from it. It
is a very plain building on the outside and is built in an old Taco Bell. How a restaurant looks, at
least on the outside, may not mean very much. A great restaurant would have amazing staff,
higher quality food, and then a warm, welcoming atmosphere on top of that. Although the first
impression of Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen was not the best, once inside, it met all of the
expectations. Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen is an amazing place to go and enjoy Italian food any day
of the week.
Once we sat down, there were more details to the restaurant that start to jump out. On the
table was a mat with a map of Italy. On the map it showed popular locations in the country.
There were posters and little trinkets all over the walls that added to the atmosphere. The kitchen
had an open window, making it possible to see into it. Being able to see in the kitchen is a nice
touch, it helps to make the room feel bigger and more comfortable. There were never too many
people at the restaurant at once. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant drew us in and made us
staff was already helping us as soon as we walked through the doors. We were escorted
to our seats, which already had menus and silverware sitting out for us. Our waiter was very nice
and made sure that we had everything we needed before he left. The staff there was nothing but
helpful. They made jokes and checked on the customers regularly. They helped to create a

friendly atmosphere in the restaurant that made us want to come back. The menus were made
very well. They organized the food in ways that it made it easy to find what we wanted while
also not giving too much information to overwhelm us. It had pictures of some of the dishes,
adding to visual aspect of it. It was the perfect balance of simple and complicated. They had a
wide variety of Italian foods including pizza, pasta, lasagna, and calzones.
The food tasted amazing. One downside to the food was how hot it was when it came
from the kitchen. The food only took 15-20 minutes to come out, which was not a bad wait, but
then we would have to wait another 10 minutes for the food to cool down. Once it cooled down
the meal was amazing. The pizza is not too much larger than a normal pizza from a place like
Papa Johns. The one downside to the pizza was that it was almost too greasy. It made it hard to
eat more than 1-2 slices in a sitting. The pizza was also very cheesy, long strands of cheese
would run from the pizza with every bite we took. The calzone with pepperoni and sausage was
wonderfully cooked. It was the perfect balance of all the ingredients. The dough around it tasted
like a pretzel, adding a bit more flavor to the already delicious ingredients. The sausage was not
overwhelming, it was made into thinner strips of sausage instead of the usual chunks. Just like
All the food at Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen was very filling. It was rare for someone to leave
without a takeout box. This was not a very bad thing considering it would give us a meal for the
next day as well, making the pricing more worth it. One meal that I did not enjoy as much was
the fettuccine alfredo chicken. It was very well made, but the alfredo sauce was overwhelming.
Unlike the calzone, the ingredients in this meal were not as balanced. I could not go more than a
few bites without having to take a drink to get the overwhelming taste of alfredo out of my
mouth. I was more disappointed with this meal after seeing the quality of the other food.

Even with the fettuccine alfredo chicken not meeting the standards of the rest of the
restaurant, Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen is a nice place to go and enjoy some Italian food. The staff is
very kind and helpful, the food tastes amazing, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very
comforting and welcoming. Whether it is to just hang out, a birthday dinner, or some other event,
