Use
This example is similar to a Purchasing of a Material Packed to Handling Units Using SAP EWM . The
difference is the arrival of the material in a nested handling unit, that is a
pallet with boxes.
Prerequisites
You use a material that is batch-managed.
Process
As in process Purchasing of a Material Packed to Handling Units Using
SAP EWM , you order material and post the goods receipt for a batch 170901_1
(movement type 101 GR goods receipt ). To do so, in SAP ERP , you create
an inbound delivery for the purchase order to create and pack handling units in SAP
Extended Warehouse Management ( SAP EWM ). Furthermore, you
repack all handling units in one handling unit, that is you pack the boxes on a
pallet. In the next step in SAP EWM , you create and confirm warehouse
tasks to putaway the handling units. As a final step, you post the goods receipt of
the handling units in SAP EWM . This goods receipt is posted to SAP ERP . You can track the handling units
throughout the follow-on processes.
After the arrival, you transfer the stock from the storage location received on dock (ROD) to
storage location available for sale (AFS). The packing is executed at the same
storage location and in the same warehouse.
In SAP Global Batch Traceability ( SAP GBT) in the graphical view, the batch network
looks the same as in process Purchasing of a Material Packed to
Handling Units Using SAP EWM .
The following figure illustrates the handling unit network in SAP GBT :
