Important Note:
All other quotas (including Sports, Employees Children, Baluchistan, Senior Alumni, Afghan and Foreign
Students) have been declared illegal by the honorable Peshawar High Court while deciding Writ Petition
No.3011-P/2016. However Islamia College Peshawar has approached the august Supreme Court of
Pakistan and has filed civil petition for leave to appeal against the aforesaid decision of the Peshawar High
Court and applications against these seats shall only be accepted and entertained if the Supreme Court of
Pakistan suspends the operation of the judgement of the High Court while hearing application for leave to
appeal. If operation is suspended these quotas will be re-advertised.
Hafiz-e-Quran:
A candidate who claims to be a Hafiz-e-Quran shall appear before a committee to judge his credentials. The
qualified candidate will get 20 marks extra (to be added with matric marks in the merit list). Attendance
before the committee is mandatory. There is no specific quota for Hafiz-e-Quran.

ATTENDANCE RULES
1. Every student shall fulfill the condition of minimum 75% attendance in each subject.
2. A written application shall be sent to the Coordinator Inter Studies by the student or his parent /
Guardian well in time reporting his illness.
3. Sick leave for more than 3 days will be sanctioned by the concerned Chairman only on producing a
valid medical certificate duly verified by the University Medical Officer.
4. Any kind of leave other than sick leave exceeding three days shall be granted by the concerned
Chairman after the application is verified/attested by the parent or guardian in case of day scholars,
and by the Provost through Warden of the hostel in case of resident students.
5. In all kinds of leave except sick leave and in case of the demise of a near relative, the student will
proceed on leave when the leave is sanctioned. Otherwise he will be treated as absent without leave.
6. In all cases, the availed leave will be at the student's own risk. So far as percentage of attendance is
concerned, a medical certificate shall not condone a shortage of attendance.
7. Sportsman shall recommend his leave application from the Director Physical Education of the
College. The leave shall not condone a shortage in attendance. Only actual days shall be counted and
favor granted accordingly. Members of students society shall recommend application from
concerned in-charge.
8. To regulate student's attendance and discipline the Convener will implement the following rules and
regulations:
i) A warning notice against remaining absent for 3 consecutive days shall be displayed on the
Notice Board and a copy dispatched to the parents.
ii) Removal from College rolls shall take place after 6 consecutive absentees without genuine
reason.

9. Sermons are conducted on weekly basis. It is mandatory for all intermediate students (1 & 2 Year)
to attend these sermons.
10. There shall be test for intermediate students after completion of 25 & 50 classes and pre board exam
in the 1st week of January each year.

Eligibility
i) Minimum 45% marks or grade C for admission to all BS programmes.
ii) Maximum age 25 years, overage may be relaxed by the competent authority for a maximum of 5 years.

1. Disability will be determined by the concerned Medical Committee according to the prescribed
procedure. Disability marks will be added to F.A/F.Sc marks in the merit list to be developed on the day
of admission. Fifty percent weightage shall be given to disability marks and remaining 50% to academic
marks for developing final merit list. Appearance before the committee is mandatory.
2. Hafiz-e-Quran: A candidate who claims to be a Hafiz-e-Quran shall have to appear before a committee

Provision of accommodation in a Hostel is a privilege and not a right of the
student. Since accommodation in Hostels is always limited, it is not obligatory
on the administration to accommodate all the applicants. The object of Hostel
residency is not only to provide shelter and food but also to focus attention on
congenial, academic and homelier environment so that boarder shall
develop/create love & affection with hostel bricks and walls. Besides, hostel
life inculcates tolerance, brotherhood, responsibility, moral and social values
in the minds of the boarders. Further, hostels of Islamia College provide
exemplary training for accepting the challenges and hardships of the day and
to face them courageously. Additionally, hostel life inculcates the sense of
discipline, cleanliness, punctuality, respectfulness for seniors and tenderness
to juniors. Kindness and consideration towards other should be the motto of a
boarder's education.
There are 11 hostels on the Campus classified for different disciplines. Hostels
are specified for BS & BCS, Intermediate classes (morning) & (evening). Arbab
Behram Menzil is a specially designed hostel for the talented students of
Intermediate classes which is our identity and pride.

Administration is managed by a team led by the Provost including Service Staff,
Provost
Resident and senior Wardens. The sole objective of the management is to
mould the raw into a pearl. Their attitude is always tutorial and not dictatorial. Character building of the boarders is done
through counseling and not through penalty.
Penalty is the last option and instrument to mend ways of the boarders to adopt life of peace, piety and discipline.

EXAMINATION SECTION
2. A student shall be evaluated in each course on the basis of Attendance, Assignment, Sessional I & II,
Mid term and final Exam.
3. The Attendance Assignment/Practical, Sessional, I & II Mid term and final exam have different
weightage and contribute to overall assessment in percent marks.

5. The number of sessional is two, assignments (two); and Mid term semester and a final semester
examination, in case a student joins a course after it has started, he will be responsible for missed
sessional, assignment and lectures.
6. Mid term semester examination will be held in the 9th week of each semester. The final semester
examination will be held at the end of each semester on the dates fixed by the Controller of
Examination with the consultation of Dues and HOD. The Controller Office shall announce the
semester calender at the beginning of the semester.
7. Minimum time allowed for a paper in mid semester examination will be two hour and that for the
final examination shall be three hours.

1. Gul-e-Dawoodi Flowers Show (Chrysanthemum)
Approximately 60 varieties of Gul-e-Dawoodi Flower were arranged for the Chrysanthemum show which
was held at main campus Islamia College Peshawar. Honourable Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Prime

Minister of Pakistan was a Chief Guest of Gul-e-Dawoodi inauguration ceremony held on 11 December,
2015.

Different varieties of flowers plantation for beautification on College / University campus and residential
areas is the responsibility of this directorate.

The Security Guards / Chowkidars were assigned duties on boundary walls and all Gates. The Police
personnel with Metal detectors and walk through gates arrangements are made for security purpose on
different premises.

DIRECTORATE OF ADMISSIONS
The Directorate of Admissions is responsible for Inter, BS and Masters Admissions at ICP. Further, the
intermediate students` attendance record is also maintained at Directorate of Admission. Students`
registration for various semesters is also carried out by this office. The staff is ever ready to deal with a large
number of applicants during admissions. Various offices are facilitated for furnishing required data. The
computer operators, senior and junior clerks are responsible for data entry and developing merit lists
accordingly. Intermediate Students`Registration and Inter Examination with BISEP is the responsibility of
Directorate of Admission. Intermediate Original Certificates are received and issued from this office.
