CHAPTER-7

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORK

CONCLUSION:

In this research work, the proposed strategy is utilized to investigate the land utilize and

cover districts in Salem amid the time of 1973-2014. Satellite image classification and its

improved vegetation area detection method has been proposed.Histogram equalization technique

has been used to obtain the high resolution satellite image from the low resolution image.Feature

extraction has been done followed by preprossed imagess with GLCM and LDP techniques. It has

been concluded that the extracted feature applied with ANFIS classifier yield the specificity of

96.03,sensitivity of 94.65% and accuracy of 96.08 % provides better classifictaion as compared

to the exixsting methodoligies. The obtained results helps to identify the area and climate

conditions suitable for crop cultivation. It will acts as an alert signal for to maintain better

ecological cycle in a balanced manner .vegetation area supplioes much more oxygen air to

protect our enivorenment from global warming.Human life span will be extended based on the

availability of vegetation area.

The pre-processing strategies are utilized as a part of this technique at first the image is

enhanced by applying the Mean Shift Filter. It is better for district smoothing contrasted with

different procedures. Next, the segmentation is finished utilizing K-Means Clustering and the

outcome is gotten. The proposed strategy is utilized to section the images into vegetation,

building and water body territories and has been effectively reproduced utilizing MATLAB.

Outwardly, contrasted and the accessible information it gives better outcome. The proposed

technique works well on both low and high determination satellite images.
The study was carried out in Salem Corporation using the techniques of GIS and Remote

Sensing for the detection of water resources. The land use/land cover is seen as one of the major

threats to sustainable development. The rapid increase of population leads to gradual decrease of

all natural resources (water areas, agricultural lands, forest areas etc.). Here the results give us

the effective mapping and monitoring of water areas in Salem city. The spatial data along with

the attribute data of Salem area are used for statistical analyzing and forecasting. The use of

maximum likelihood classifier technique provides better result to analyze the changes in Built-up

Land is in Salem city. .In this paper have analyzed Five class of land have been consider as

Built-up, Water body, Agriculture land area, Waste land area, Forest Land area and Mining. The

classification from the year 1973-2016 has been considered and the Change detection also

analyzed and it clearly shows that urban occupation area has been raised by 372.2sqkm.

Agriculture area has been shrinks by 65.16sqkm, waste land are reduced by 68.9sqkm. It clearly

indicates that the study area have change vastly from since 1973.this shows that it is changed in

double time then the other land cover changes.

FUTURE WORK

While coming to the forest area is decreased this work measure clearly about the resource

availability in present and helpful to save the things for the forthcoming years. Furthermore, it

shows the change in land cover patterns and need for monitoring such areas for future land

development. With the framework of this study, for the detection of possible land covered water

areas in Salem city was analyzed. The study attempts to map and monitoring such sprawls

change in land use and land cover change for 1973 and 2014 by using this study forecasting the

same for further upcoming years can be done. ge or supply increased and increased in number.
