PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Altius Cement Board Joint Compound (Cementitious)
is a light weight; two component system in which
the acrylic resin base and the cement base powder
are mixed on site. They are used for jointing and
repairing cement boards. This product has high
flexibility, long life great resistance to chemical
attacks, atmosphoric pollution and UV radiation
hence it is ideally applicable for areas which undergo
extreme climatic conditions.

AREAS OF USAGE
Used as a jointing compound for both old and new
surfaces of cement boards.
PREPARATION OF SURFACE
Keep the surface clean by brushing away the dust,
dirt and foreign matter. Ensure that ridges and form
oil is also removed. It is recommended to use Altius
Primer over the dusting or flaking surfaces. Before
applying Altius Cement Board Joint Compound over
old painted surfaces, ensure that the surface is
washed with water/soda solution. Rinse and allow
the surface to dry before applying Altius Cement
Board Joint Compound (Cementitious).
MATERIAL PREPARATION
Add the 1 part of acrylic resin base to the 3 part of
cement base powder and mix throughly using a high
speed mixer or power agitator for 7-8 minutes until
a homogeneous mix is attained. The mix prepared
should be used within 1 hour hence plan work
accordingly. If it is to be sprayed, add water to the
required consistency.
APPLICATION
Apply Altius Cement Board Joint Compound
(Cementitious) as a base coating, filling the joint
between the cement boards and scrap off the excess
material. Apply a 2-inch fiberglass mesh over the
filled joints. Stick masking tapes on either side of
the mesh to attain a uniform and clean work. Apply
Altius Cement Board Joint Compound (Cementitious)
over the mesh with brush or a roller and allow it
to dry for 3 hours. Apply a second coat of joint
compound over the first coat. Once completely dry,
remove the masking tapes from either side of the
mesh. Use sand paper to smoothen the surface and
apply paint. All tools to be washed with water and
wiped dry before storing for easy reuse.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Keep away from contact of eyes and skin by wearing
overalls, safety boots, goggles, gloves and mask. For

PACKAGING & STORAGE
Product is supplied in 5 Kg and 20 Kg plastic pail.
5 Kg plastic pails contain, resin in 1.25 Kg bag and
powder in 3.75 Kg bag. 20 Kg plastic pail contain
resin in 5 Kg bag and powder in 15 Kg bag. Store
in a clean dry area, protected from direct sunlight
and extreme temperatures (both heat and cold).
They have a shelf life of up to 6 months. The oldest
material should be used first.
