JOB DESCRIPTION

1. JOB IDENTIFICATION

Post Title: Management Information Systems Administrator

Accountable to: Information Systems & Administration Manager

Responsible to: Management Information Systems Supervisor

Salary: £19,412

2. PRINCIPAL JOB PURPOSE


 Undertake a range of tasks to administer student and curriculum data within the College
Information Systems, to inform College operational activity through a culture of evidence.
 Provide administrative support to Faculty teams.

3. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


 Accurately input, monitor and collate student data including live enrolment and
attendance to ensure the efficient and high quality administration of the College MIS
system.
 Accurately input, monitor and collate course information to ensure the efficient and high
quality administration of the College MIS system.
 Communicate with teaching staff to facilitate accurate and timeous recording of
information including enrolments, attendance, transfers and withdrawals.
 Assist the ISA Manager by providing basic MIS reports as requested by staff.
 Ensure all data complies with the requirements for the submission of data to external
bodies.
 Contribute to a range of audit checks of student and course data.
 Assist with the self-evaluation and operational planning process.
 Provide efficient administrative support to Faculties including organising and taking
minutes at meetings.
 Respond to student enquiries as required.

 Provide a responsive friendly service to all learners, staff and visitors in a confidential and
professional manner with an emphasis on customer care.
 Contribute to the effective and efficient processing of student data.
 Participate in staff training and development as required.
 Have a flexible approach to your work and nurture a cooperative, learner centred working
environment.

5. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The role sits within the wider MIS team and will work under the guidance of a designated
MIS Supervisor. Due to the nature of the role, MIS Administrators will also work closely
with members of the faculty management team and curricular staff.

6. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Physical
 The post is office based and may require travel between campuses.
 ICT skills required for production of paperwork, reports and e-communication.

Mental
 Frequent interruptions to work, which require work priorities to be reviewed.
 Dealing with range of unrelated issues simultaneously.

Emotional
 Dealing with periods of high workload.
 Maintaining a measured and professional attitude and approach at all times.

Relationships
 The MIS Administrators will report to the MISA Supervisors. They will also work with the
wider MIS team and with faculty staff, to support MIS activity.
