Many people may ask why is speech therapy? Or what is speech therapy? Speech
Therapy helps kids on pronouncing words or having a hard time speaking. Some kids may need
speech therapy, but not all kids need it. Speech Therapy is important because kids who start
going to speech therapy helps them to improve their pronunciation when they get older. Some of
the articles I have researched say that kids start making certain noises in a certain age or start
making different words, but some kids do not really start doing these kind of stuff in which they
are a bit delayed on speaking, so they have to take speech therapy. Therapy would help them
Many kids take speech therapy for different reasons. One of the reasons why kids need to
take speech therapy is that there are different kind of disorders that prevent them from speaking
or making sentences. In the article of “Kids Health” it states, “A speech disorder refers to a
problem with the actual production of sounds. A language disorder refers to a problem
understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas.” Speech disorder is the problem
of kids is that they cannot pronounce words properly. Language disorder is the problems of
putting words together or ideas in order to communicate with other people. This shows how there
are a few disorders that may lead a kid to take speech therapy. In a similar article call “Going to
Speech Therapy” have similar reasons why kids go to speech therapy. In the article it states,
“Speech therapist help people of all ages with different speech and language disorders. Here are
some of them: articulation disorders, fluency disorders, voice disorders, and language disorders.”
This article explains why kids go to speech therapy. Also, in another article it explains why kids
and even adults need to go to speech therapy. In the article it states, “There are three parts to the
voice — phonation, loudness and pitch, and resonance. Disorders in this category are covered, as
Unlike in the first paragraph kids who are delayed on speaking or making certain amount
of sentences in certain age need to take speech therapy. There are a few articles that describe or
tell people why some kids are delayed on speaking and how speech therapy would help kids to
speak. In the article called “Delayed Speech Therapy” states, “A child with a language delay
may pronounce words well but only be able to put two words together. A child with a speech
delay might use words and phrases to express ideas but be difficult to understand.” This article is
explaining that it’s important for kids to start speech therapy early because kids would have a
difficult time putting more words together or able to express their ideas but not able to be
understood by other people. A article from Michigan Medicine explains the same reasons why
speech delay or language delay could affect kids. It states, “Early on, babies like to make sounds
of their own. As they get older, they learn to mimic sounds that they hear. If you are concerned
about your child’s language development, you should talk to your pediatrician.” This explains
that if parents are concern about if their child’s speech delay that they should take their child to
the pediatrician. It’s important to know if the kid needs to take speech therapy.
There are many websites that explain why kids and adults need speech therapy. On a
article called, “5 Reasons Why Speech Therapy is Crucial for a Non-Verbal Child” it states,
“Speech and Language Therapy can give a child a way to communicate.” On the article it also
shows five reasons why kids and adults need speech therapy. Taking kids to therapy help them to
communicate. It’s important that kids and adults know to how to communicate and pronounce
In conclusion, Why is speech therapy important for all ages? Doing research and finding
articles that explain why kids and even adults need to take speech therapy and it gave the reason
why some kids and adults need to take therapy. Doing research learning more about speech
therapy and why it’s important for some people. I see that this issue resolve itself by informing
people why speech therapy for some people is important. Also, learning how people who are
taking it or who took it helped them improve their communication and pronouncing words.
