10 rules to live by

To start this off you have to ask yourself , what are ethics? Ethics are the basic moral
principle that drives a person's behavior or choices made in a situation. Justice on the
other hand is just being fair and giving someone the treatment they deserve. Ethics and
justice intertwine in society all the time. When people have to make decisions based on
ethical reasons they still ask the question of is it fair or is this deserving. With that being
said , my ten rules are based on the Virtue Framework.

Although my ten rules are based off the Virtue Framework , some of the rules may apply
to more than one framework. I took my rules and narrowed them down into two groups.
The first group consists of, Honesty, Confidence, Be yourself, Forgiveness, Respect,
and No jealousy. I grouped these rules together because they all are things you must
change about yourself on the inside, they all have things to do with who you are as a
person and what makes you pure. In the Virtue Framework it states “ In the virtue
framework we try to end that identify the character traits that might motivate us in a
given situation. We are concerned with what kind of person we should be and what our
actions indicate about our character.”Based on that those words describe you and what
you believe is being good.

The second set of rules I put together are based on two frameworks the Virtue and the
Duty framework. These rules consist of, Do no harm to innocent people,
Have sympathy / compassion, Care for loved ones and Help your community. These
specific rules apply to more than one framework because they shape who you are
towards other people, not just your self satisfaction, these rules are designed to help
you help others. These rules go into the Duty framework because you are giving
everyone an equal opportunity in a situation. In the Duty framework it states “ End of
Duty framework we focus on the duties and obligations that we have in a given situation
and consider what ethical obligations we have and what things you should never do.
ethical conduct is defined by doing one's duties and doing the right thing in the goal is
performing the correct action.” The goal of this framework is to make sure everyone is
happy in the situation by obligating to everyone's needs.

When I was first thinking of my list , I came up with some rules that I live by to start off
my thinking , which is why i chose to base them off the Virtue Framework because it
reflects me and who I am as a person. From my initial list I changed and modified a few
rules because some of the rules were either based on making you happy rather than
being good and some were too similar to each other.

In conclusion, all my rules are based on what I believe should be a good person, which
is one of the major reasons I based them on the Virtue Framework. You do what you
think is right based on your character and who you are. If I lived by these ten rules I
think I would have a much better chance at succeeding in life no matter what I decide to
do. If everyone In the world were to love by these ten rules I think it would be a great
place that we can only Imagine because nowadays the world is filled with hate and
different views that cannot be resolved.
