Topic : ‘Monday Blues’: An Unrealistic Myth


General purpose : To persuade.
Specific purpose : To persuade the people to stop believing in the myth of ‘Monday
Blues’ that always be a major psychological problem for the people as
Monday is the start of the workweek.
Thesis : To urge the audience that ‘Monday Blues’ does not exist, the negative
effects of ‘Monday Blues’ and the way to get rid of this quixotic
ideology.
I. INTRODUCTION

A. Attention Grabber : Consistently, it is impossible for us to not putting stock in this


Unreasonable myth, 'Monday Blues'. So what do you know about
'Monday Blues'? How far do we know about it? I will jump at the
chance to make a couple inquiry. Do you ever discouraged with
regards to Monday? Do you ever feel your Monday is truly rushed? On
the off chance that yes, it implies you are enduring with Monday blues.

B. Reason to Listen : Monday blues is the feeling of low-vivacious, cool, irritated,


Miserable mood of those workers, employees or even students who
feel that an everyday, troublesome, sudden weekday is touching base
to drive them into doing a reversal to work, killing their delights and
irritating them. But all of this will not happen if we do not believe in
this ideology, so remain with me and be ready and get the focuses that
will convey so that there will be no more trouble in our Monday!

Blues’ does not exist, the negative impacts of 'Monday Blues' and the
best approach to dispose of this quixotic belief system.

D. Credibility statement : As a man that once have faith in this myth and now
acknowledge how imperative for us to commence our Monday,
I will get a kick out of the chance to share and urge everybody
to trust Monday is same like a day or two ago and will be more
bright if we utilize the day admirably.

E. Preview of the Main Points : Today, I need to have make a huge difference on your
Monday so that your day will be merry, begin from why you
are trusting 'Monday Blues' until the best approach to get free
the issues.
1. Firstly, I will talk about the reason you believing in Monday Blues which is
because of our bad mind setting towards Monday.
2. Next, I will talk about what will the effects that we will face if believing in
Monday Blues
3. Lastly, I will talk about how to escape ourselves from believing in this unrealistic
myth.

Everything issue comes there must be the cause. Before we attempt to get free the issues that
we confront, we have to discover the make that lead us the issue. So let’s discover the root of
the ideology of ‘Monday Blues’ in humans’ lives.
A. Monday Blues won't occur in the event that we don't set up in our mind that it exist.

Monday.
i. Many will think the weekend is the time where they should release
their stress about work by having leisure time with family and friends.
However, they need to remember how far they have fun with their
loves one. Monday is always Monday, work is always work and you
can’t force it to be a leisure day as the weekend but you can take the
day positively.
ii. Your mind and body cannot accept the existence of Monday because
you need to face the burden of works, meet the clients, and force
yourself to be ‘machines’ that can solve all your works in a quick of
time so that you can go back early.
iii. Monday is the most exceedingly bad day of the week since it is the
main work day following two days of recreation, and in light of the
fact that four work days take after before the following time of
relaxation (Areni,2008)

(Transition : Now as we all already knew why we stick to this myth, I will now tell you the
effects if we keep on stick to ‘Monday Blues’ )
B. Attitude towards work becomes slow and unproductive

1. Your job is not fulfilling and workable.


i. Job become discontent and stressful as it may the signal of you are
missing out on too much of the goals and objectives of your work.
ii. You built up new attitude that any work or task or requirement
movement is a major distraction from enjoyment.
iii. The work or task that needed to be complete not achieve the standard
or quality that verified by the clients as the emotions and feelings were
disrupted by the Monday morning sickness that just a lame ideology
that will spoil the mood of a person

2. Anger and depression influence your workday


i. Emotion will unstable and start to blame others such as the
environment, friends and family for the unproductive works that you
did.
ii. Relationship with your colleagues throughout the day will be affected
as you were surrounded with negatives vibes that was brought by
yourself.

3. Monday blues affects your health and might leads you towards bad disease.

1. Plan your Monday on the weekends


i. Arrange something for after work with the goal that you have
something to anticipate so that at least you will not bring your job
matter to your house.
ii. Make sure that the work that was given on the previous week already
finish on the weekends or if you have free time on Monday, use the
time wisely by finishing the uncompleted work
iii. Make a schedule for the whole week to make you do your work on a
specific time and place.
2. Be socialize with your colleagues
i. Communicating with your colleagues will freshen up your mind before
work and prevent yourself from being sleepy or bored during work.
ii. Do things that you enjoy with your colleagues so that the whole office
will cherish and merrier.
iii. Share your problems about work with your colleagues and ask for their
advices. If you having trouble with another matter such as financial,
family, et cetera. Do ask their advice but not during office hours but
during rest hour so that it will not disrupt your work that you suppose
to do.
3. Delight yourself to make you happy.
i. Make Monday as a rewarding day by granting yourself after doing a lot
of work with chocolates or do the thing that you such as shopping so
you can enjoy most of your work for the following day.
ii. If the whole day was totally hectic and pack with plenty of work, do
your job while hearing your favourite music and do some simple
exercise inside the office to ensure your body and mind focus and still
awake to do the job.

of my speech until the end of my speech, I already point out some points and
proves that this quixotic mentality should be erase from every persons’ minds.
Start your work week with happiness and spread your joy to everyone. Life is
worth the living. If you treat your day happily, your life will be meaningful.
However, if you treat it badly for example believing on ‘Monday Blues’, your
whole week or maybe the whole year will terrible as you already built the
mentality to ruin your own life.
