Hello everyone, Today we are going to determine the learning

condition, with of course the corresponding Instructional MateriaLS


needed. And of course what are the things to be done if you have
students with disabilities or exceptionalities.

Let me introduce to you the settings and profile of our mini private
classroom.
So we have for example 10 students with 2 exceptionalities, which is
Hearing Impairements and orthopedic disability. The topic that will be
discussing is PRIMARY COLOR (red, yellow,blue)

1. For Gaining Attention: The teacher will let the the class watch a
short videos of about primary color. In this video, the short
video must have a high sounds so that the student with hearing
impairment could hear the voices. For our Instructional Material,
we are going to use laptop to show the videos. We are targeting
here the interest and attention of the students through visual
materials.

After watching the short video, the teacher could ask what they saw.

2. For Informing Objectives: After getting the attention of your


students, teacher must inform the students about the objectives
of the lesson. For example:

The objective must be concrete according to the lesson you wil be
discussing.
3. Recall Prior Knowledge:After giving the objectives of the lesson
and the discussion, the teacher will be providing some activities
to know the level of knowledge of the students according to the
lesson. This activities could recall their schema or their prior
knowledge about the topic. For example:
-role play “The teacher will provide some picture with their
corresponding color and they have to match the picture to it’s color.

4. Prsenting the stimulus: After recalling prior knowledge, The


teacher will be presenting the stimulus, the teacher will be
discussing the topic for example “primary color” to grade 1
students. The teacher will be using Visual Aid as her or his
Instructional Matertial in discussing the topic. For the students
or child with hearing impairment, the child must be put or be
seated infront of the class because the child had difficulty in
hearing voices or sound if the voice or the sound is far from her
or him and the child must be given a handsout for her/him could
read the discussion. The child with orthopedic will be also seated
infront although he or she do not have the difficulty in listening
but he or she could focus on the discussion more.

5. Providing Learner’s Guidance: After presenting the stimulus, The
teacher will be providing the learner guidance on how to do the
performance. Teacher must provide the guidance written or orally
at the same time. And if your students are just Grade 1 students,
teacher must demostrate the procedure of the performance for her
or his students understand what kind of activities or performance
they will be doing. The teacher must give his or her student with
exceptionalities the essay way of doing the activities or the teacher
must give another activities to the students according to their
needs pr level of knowledge in understandung or eliciting the
performance. The teacher could use POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
in explaining the procedure or direction to the students, while the
teacher will perform the said procedure.

6. Eliciting Performance: After discussing the or presenting the
stimulus or the lesson, and the guidelines of the activities. The
teacher will the student perform or do the activities with her/his
guidance.

7. Giving Feedback: After eliciting the performance of the students,
the teacher will now be giving her or his feedback or comments about
the child performance. The teacher could give rewards to those
teacher who will perform well but the teacher must also give some
incentives to the other students.

8. Assesing Performance or evaluation: In assessing the students,


techer could give different types of activities or evaluation to know if
the student really understand the lesson or the stimulus provided. For
example the teacher will now give a Post test examinatuion to her or
his students to measure their level of understanding to the topic. The
teacher will be using test paper and paint in assesing the students.
For those students who had difficulty in his or her motor skills
(orthopedic) the teacher will now modify the assessment or the test
to meet the needs of the child or the students.
For example, the teacher will be giving a different type of test. If the
teacher will be giving the class a post test examination, teacher could
give oral examination to the students who had difficulty in writing or
coloring.

9. Enhancing retention and transfer: After asssesing the performance


of the students, teacher will now enhancing the level of knowledge of
his or her students by providing the students an assignment that
students could apply or transfer the information they equate inside
the class. The teacher will providing different assignment or the
teacher could modify the assignment according to the needs of the
students.
