Performing art (Dance)

Class : VII

Term : I

1. Bhoomi Pranaam
Process : In the very beginning of class, the students will perform bhoomi
pranaam i.e Bending down to the floor and touching the floor with the
help of your hands and then folding your hands in a namaskar position .
It will be performed in the beginning and in the end of the class.

Outcome : This routine will enhance the value for dance in each child as
it is a gesture to salute our mother earth and to pay respect and honesty
for our dance .

2. Warm-up exercises
Process : After the Bhoomi pranaam, kids will perform head to toe warm
up exercises like bending of body , head and body in circular motion
through the waist . Movement of hands in all directions .

Outcome : The warm up exercises will enhance the flexibility to dance


and to be more active while in class.

3. Expressions exercises

Process: The students will perform facial exercise like using eyes,nose
,lips,eyebrows,cheeks according to the mood shown .

Outcome : This will help kids to perform right emotion at right time while
performing..It enhansis the dance performance so much.

Dance form Outcome

1. Western : Jazz / Zumba Introducing western dance form for


kids so that it will create interest
and bring lots of confidence while
doing an energetic dance routine.

2. Folk style : Bhangra Introducing one of the oldest and


most energetic folk dance form as
it give emphasis on the strength of
the body and works on flexibility of
the body .
Term : II

1. Classical : Bharatnatyam / Introducing the most old and most


Kathak beautiful dance form as it helps in
making body postures beautiful
and correct . Both dance forms are
eaqually important as both belongs
to different regions of india

2. Contemporary Introducing the most new form of


dancing which allows students to
create their own style of dancing
under the basic guidelines of the
dance form.
