DAILY LESSON PLAN

WEEK/DAY/DATE : 9/Thursday/21ST March 2019


CLASS/TIME : 6C/ (High Proficiency Level)
THEME/TOPIC/ : World of Knowledge/Famous Places/2.2,2.2.2(a),(b)
LEARNING STANDARD
OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :-
a) read and understand the text for information and enjoyment
with guidance
b) share their ideas during Think-Pair-Share activity
c) run and dictate the reading text during running dictation task.
ACTIVITIES :
a) Set Induction:-
1) Teacher assigns the pupils into four groups.
2) Teacher carries out picture puzzle activity.
3) Pupils complete the picture puzzle activity.
b) Pre Reading:-
1) Teacher introduces vocabulary pertaining to the reading text
(Glimpse of Pangkor) via the power point slides.
2) Pupils read aloud the vocabulary with the meanings.
c) While Reading:-
1) Teacher gets the pupils to read the text.
2) Pupils read the text with correct pronunciation.
3) Teacher explains pupils on how to carry out Think-Pair-Share
activity.
4) One of the pupils from each pair comes in front and share the
ideas that they have discussed earlier.
d) Post Reading:-
1) Teacher conducts running dictation activity.
2) One pupil from each group walk or run to read one sentence
from the reading text.
3) The pupil dictate what he/she remembers to the writer.
4) Each group members take turns during this activity.
e) Closure :-
1) Teacher recaps the lesson for the day.
2) Pupils come up with a simple circle map and write five
vocabulary they learnt earlier.
