Career Narrative
I strive to use my experience and knowledge to help create an atmosphere where students and teachers feel
empowered to take risks, learn, and grow to find the success which they seek. My experience thus far in education has
taught me the importance of building authentic relationships and developing a clear attainable vision for greatness. My
goal as an administrator is to systematically address the barriers that prevent that from happening for every student.

 Coached and supported School Improvement Team in the strategic implementation of SIP action items. (Strategic

 Coordinated 5-week summer program for incoming freshman to aid in transitioning to high school.

 Monitored and intervened with students’ academic and attendance progress through teacher referrals, system
data and reports, administrator and counselor communications.
 Worked individually with at-risk students to determine root causes of academic barriers, methods of problem
solving, and effective solutions to improve academic success.
 Managed the placement and tracking of students completing online credit recovery for failed courses in
alternative learning centers.
Science Teacher, Cary High School, Cary NC August 2010 – June 2015

 Taught as a full-time science teacher of Academic and Honors Chemistry, Physical Science, and Forensic Science.
