“Jose Rizal (1998)”

The film Jose Rizal is a must hit movie that talks about the life of the filipino people under the

spanish colonization in the philippines. This movie bring us back from where the filipino people

has been experienced from the spanish government. This movie is a 1998 biographical film of the

national hero named “Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda or Jose Rizal” this movie is

directed by Marilou Diaz Abaya and starring Cesar Montano as Rizal and it is under GMA Films.

This movie also talks about what patriotism really was being put to every filipino’s mind. Thru the

famous novel “Noli me tangere” and “El Filibusterismo” of our national hero Jose Rizal the

filipino’s have been awaken to the reality such as the abusive ways of the spaniards people

towards the filipino people. It really send us a message of how abusing the spaniards and the

friars.

The movie pertains the life of out hero Dr. Jose Rizal . Describing his youthful life , his studies , his

life when he was endeavoring in the other country , his journey , his life when he was in dapitan

and finally his life when death was approaching him. His life was not so perfect like the other

people with the same state as him , his life is wealthy and he has very lovable family so that we

can see that jose rizal was a good person despite of what he has experiencing to the spanish

government. It started when the government see that the book of jose rizal was very convincing

to the filipino people and that gave them a war because the filipino people just read what is jose
rizal was coming from. Because Rizal didn't really stay being blind, mute and deaf in fighting the

condition of the Filipino. The Filipino artist who played the role “Jose Rizal” give a justice to our

historical hero so that the movie gain more viewers to understand pf what is the life of the

people in the spaniards colonization in the philippines and even in speaking spanish and how to

forge the hand written of Jose Rizal and these help the movie to be more effective. The

supporting actors and actresses are also very great in giving their roles, portraying it right and the

message is so very affective.

This film give is a flashback from what it is happening when the spaniards came here in the

philippines. And i can recommend this movie to anyone because there are a lot of values that we

can get to this movie. So that i gave this a movie a 10/10 score because its is very convincing to

the people.
