Why is High School So Important?

Do your grades in high school matter? I’ve been told that doing well in high school can

allow you to get into a better-known college. During the years that I have been studying, I

always hear that studying is crucial for my studies (Gallardo). Will it help to get good grades if it

might not even depend on what grades I’m getting? It is very important for me to get into a

superior college. My studies matter to me. I have great respect for everything that revolves

around my education. I appreciate the teachers who teach us every day no matter how mean and

unwilled we are. High schoolers can be really intolerable for some teacher who don’t have

enough patience for students like us. We aren’t as mature as we should be and we still need time

to grow. I want to be something and to make something for myself. To make something out of

myself, I need to do good. I have always been told by my mom that the only thing I need to focus

on is school because I have nothing else to worry about. I know I have nothing else to do so why

don’t I try my best to maintain good grades during my four years in high school.Therefore I need

to maintain good grades in high school since they do matter.

While searching for a school, colleges can check your grades to see if you qualified to

join their school. Your high school grades impact you in a negative way. Your GPA, which is

your grade point average, can affect what your career can become. After four years in high

school, your GPA is accumulated from the previous 4 years in school. If you have a grade that is

less than you meant for it your GPA can have a drastic change. Your whole career only depends

on the grades you get from your high school years. That is a reason for you to keep your grades

up. Such as your GPA can be weighted there is a possibility that you will have a higher GPA

which can make certain colleges changing their opinion about you. Therefore you should always

have a good grade point average.

By contrast, people say that the college you get into depends on the score you get on your

SAT (Plessis). It can change the college you can get in real quick. However, even though your

SAT is a big part of what college you can get to. Your grades are still an important part of your

high school years that can affect what your career is. Your future depends on the career you

decide to pursue and what you make out of that career. I want to make a living for myself. I

believe that it can’t be used as a leverage to change the college than you can be accepted into. I

think that it should just be a test designed to see what classes you should have for college and

how advanced you are. They shouldn’t have to matter or interfere with the college you want to

attend.

As well as being proud of what you're doing for your career. Since your grades do have a

great impact on your life and what you can become you should take school seriously. To feel

accomplished and proud of what you become you need to have a great job that you like.

However, to get that job you might need to go into college to get your bachelors degree or your

master's degree. For your degree you need to go to college and if you want to be recognized you

need to stand out at high school. You can be able to live your life as you want and won’t have to

live in the shadows of others. You can be anything if you put your heart and mind to it. I want to

be proud of who I am when I grow up I want to be known as a hard worker. I will try my hardest

to become something and be proud of what I became. I want my heart to dance with happiness

when I know that I did something that I can be proud of.

As high school goes on your grades have to be at a certain standard. Getting good grades

is essential for your peace of mind and for your future. Grades aren’t just letters and percentages

on a paper their your life. Grades can control how good and how terrible your life can be.

Therefore, I believe that your grades in high school are as important as any other grades you will

ever get. In my mind, it has always been that to be in a good place in life I would have to do

good in high in school. Therefore, I believe that doing your absolute best in high school will

allow you to advance in life.
