RESUMO: O presente artigo tematiza a interpretação elaborada por Hannah Arendt da

conjuntura vivida pelos Estados Unidos nos anos 60 pautada pela. Guerra Fria e pelos
movimentos de contestação política em contrapartida a argumentação teórica e ao
posicionamento político da Nova Esquerda.

Hannah Arendt and the refusal of revolutionary violence

ABSTRACT: This paper thematizes the interpretation elaborated by Hannah Arendt of

the conjuncture lived by the United States in the sixties (marked by the Cold War and
the movements of political contestation) related to the theoretical argument and political
positioning of the New Left.
