PREFACE

Internship is one of the compulsory subjects that must be taken by students of

Mechanical Engineering Dept. – Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Surabaya. In
addition, as mentioned earlier, these activities are expected to increase student knowledge
about the cases that occurred in the industrialized world.
An understanding of the problems in the industrialized world will be much expected to
support the theoretical knowledge gained from the lecture material, so that students can
become one of the human resources that are ready to face the challenges of globalization.
PT GMF AeroAsia one of the top recommended company for engineer to gain more
experience. Placed inside the Soekarno-Hatta International, Cengkareng, made this company
expert in maintenance facility and others aviation stuff.
By the graduation requirement set, the internship subject has become one of the key
drivers for each student to know the conditions of employment. Based on the previous, we want
to apply a job-training program to your company, and we hope that the company would accept
my proposal. We are sure that our knowledge could be applied in this company.

PURPOSE

The Purpose of this Internship program can be divided into two part, namely the general
and specific Purposes.
 General objective
1. The creation of a clear pattern and directional relationships between universities and
the user's output.
2. The business world is able to realize their awareness and participation by contributing
the national education system.
3. Open the insight that students can know and understand the work system in the
industrialized world and able to hold approach, absorption and solving problems
associated with the world of work as a whole.
4. Growing and creating constructive thought patterns insightful for students and the
world of work.

 Specific Purpose
1. To meet the semester credit units (credits) requirement that have to be taken as the
academic in the Department of Mechanical Engineering ITS.
2. Get to know more about the technology in the industrialized world, especially the PT.
GMF AeroAsia, in accordance with the field being studied in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering ITS.
3. Know directly on production processes and supporting equipment at PT. GMF AeroAsia.
4. Learn some engineering problems and failures in PT. GMF AeroAsia.
5. Train the Participant to adapt and work directly in the field.
6. Learn more about the process of equipment maintenance that existing in the field.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

In order to inform my activity while we are following the job-training, then it is

necessary to explain an important thing which is comes from our idea. And to make sure that
our activity is suitable with the program the company has planned. We expect to get more
information from the company.

PLACE OF JOB-TRAINING

The job-training would be held in PT GMF AeroAsia.

TIME OF JOB-TRAINING

We hope that the job-training program would be held from 20th July to 20th August 2019.
And for the company consideration, we enclose our schedule in the second semester of 2019-
2020 :
• February 04th 2019 until May 24th 2019 : Regular Study
• May 25th 2019 until August 15th 2019 : Holiday

 CONTENT

This Internship program will be focused on the field of mechanical engineering,

especially with regard to the manufacturing industry. The course that supporting this practice
are:
o Statics
o Mechanics Strength of Materials
o Knowledge of Materials Engineering
o Metallurgy
o Manufacturing Processes 1st
o Manufacturing Processes 2nd
o Machine Elements 1st
o Machine Elements 2nd
o Management Techniques And Treatments.
However it was a pleasure that PT GMF AeroAsia would give a surplus knowledge as
long as it is related to Mechanical Engineering application.
Not to mention that PT GMF AeroAsia is one of successful Aviation Company in
Maintenance and Service, handle matters as mentioned above. So we intended to apply a job-
training program to this company, hopefully we could achieved sense knowledge, unforgettable
great experience, and improved personal skill in social communication.

METHOD

The learning method we expect in this job-training is learning and observation by cases
that occurred in the field, which will be guided by the experts in PT GMF AeroAsia.
