School Counseling Program Mission Statement

The mission of the LaVergne High School Counseling Department is to support all students through empowerment
and advocacy, to challenge and prepare every student academically, and to encourage student achievement through a
comprehensive and data-driven school counseling program. The counselors at LaVergne High School will meet the
needs of each student by partnering with parents, teachers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to provide

support for academic, social/emotional, and career and college readiness.

School Counseling Program Goals


The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance and/or behavior goals this year. Details of
activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum, small-group and closing-the-gap action plans.

The school counseling office will be open for students/parents/teachers from 7:30am to 3:30 pm. My hours

will be from 8am to 3pm (if flexible scheduling is used).

The career center will be open from 9am to 2pm
