Message

My warmest greetings and congratulations to the foremost champions of

this momentous occasion—the completers and graduates of School Year 2018-
2019!

Graduation and moving-up ceremonies are indeed a joyous celebration,

and not only because it culminates another year of learning and discovery,
perseverance, and passionate work among our learners. It also caps off another year
of successful collaboration among parents, teachers, education officials and
personnel, community members, partners, and stakeholders of diverse roots,
cultures, and traditions.

This year’s theme, “Unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All,” speaks
of our commitment and loyalty to our culture—diverse as it is—that reflects our soul
and unites our people. Time and again, we have proven that regardless of our
descent, status, ethnicity, and religious and political beliefs, we can unite towards
the realization of a common goal—the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and
liberating basic education for the Filipino learners.

While the Department of Education (DepEd) has carried on and

embraced change amid technological advancements and the continuously shifting
socio-economic landscape, it commits itself to the holistic development of 21st
century learners who are not only critical and innovative thinkers in the fields of
science, mathematics, and robotics, but who are also artistic and creative, and can
thrive in the fields that appeal to our soul and our sense of identity.

Rest assured that through the K to 12 Basic Education Program, DepEd

shall strive to hone our future leaders and nation-builders in a society that embraces
diversity and all its challenges and advantages. I am positive that whatever path they
wish to pursue hereafter, our graduates and completers will continuously enrich
what makes up the Filipino soul—our culture, talent, history, and capacity to survive.

Again, congratulations and mabuhay!

Message

Let me extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all the graduates of

School Year 2018-2019.

This year’s theme, “unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All”, manifests our
commitment to ensure that no Filipino learner is left behind. It speaks of our relentless
pursuit to advocate inclusive education and transcend borders of socio-economic status,
ethnicity, religious affiliations, and even political convictions as we devotedly fulfil our
mandate to provide quality, accessible, relevant and liberating basic education for the Filipino
learners.

The power to unite all of us truly rests in what education can do-it gives us the
avenue to know what we can do and develop the skills to enable us to do the tasks which
seem impossible for us to achieve. It gives us the power to believe in ourselves, to rise above
all the difficulties and more importantly, work towards our foremost dreams in life.

Indeed, this momentous occasion not only calls for a celebration of success for
being able to surpass all the challenges and trials you have encountered, but this milestone
also unlocks the pathway that will bring you to the next chapter of your life. While it marks
the completion of your elementary/secondary education, it also serves as the door to your
pursuit for higher excellence where bigger and brighter things await all of you.

If this new journey will not be as easy as you expect it to be, bear in mind that you
can always rely on your parents, teachers and school mentors to guide and comfort you.
Remember that when the road seems difficult to trend on especially when you feel that you
are alone, it will be easier if you have a hand to hold. Your parents, guardians and teachers
are always there for you the moment you need them.

My dear graduates, you are the hope of this nation and this generation. May you
find the greater purpose in life that will continuously kindle your heart, mind, and body with
the steadfast commitment to success and excellence. Always remember that everything you
do is all the glory of the Lord.

Congratulations amd God bless you all!

Message
Congratulations for succeeding in another chapter of your life!

As what they say, all good things must come to an end. Yet, this is not your ending
; it is just a stopover of your journey and certainly, you will be continuing to drive toward the
paths of your choices and aspirations.

Graduation creates an arrival - a paradox that should be inculcated not only in your
minds, but more important, in your hearts. This is your arrival to bigger challenges and
tougher situations. If you keep using the learnings and experiences you have gained, nothing
can stop you from getting your own pot of gold.

This year’s theme focuses on oneness amidst diversity in reaching a common goal.
All of us have come from different backgrounds - diverse culture, behaviors, perspective,
beliefs, fields of experiences, and standpoints, All of us, in spite of diversities, put our dreams
into actuality and we will be contributory to national development.

We are very fortunate that the government through K to 12 Curriculum have

emphasized education for all - FREE education for all. This is one way of accommodating
all people from different walks of life without exclusivity, reservations, and discrimination.

Quality of education which is tantamount to quality of life is what we are all after.
However, we have to remember that quality cannot be solely achieved through theories and
book - based concepts. It is more on life lessons, reality checks, and values formation. As
what Martin Luther King Jr. exclaimed, “Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true
education.”

My dearest graduates, continue honing your skills; striving for excellence,

listening to the more abled, and empathizing with people. Be the best version of yourself
without losing your significance and vision. Take a stand with what you believe in without
stepping on someone’s foot. Grab opportunities but also learn to say no if you think
something does not fit. Treat one another as partners for national transformation. Lead your
life to the direction you plan.

Again, my warmest congratulations to all of you. Keep the fire in your hearts and
in your dreams burning!

TERESA D. MABABA, CESO V
