Title MILLING PROCESS
Objective To learn how the milling machine works.
To produce a product or part from milling process.
To study the parts and types of milling process.
To know the safety rules for milling machines.
Report Summary
1. First we learn about the components of milling machine.
Beside that we learn the safety rules and precautions when
handling the machine.
Method 2. To start the process, the spindle speed sets in high speed about
learned 1600 rpm – 1800 rpm.
/Procedure 3. The cutting tool attached tightly to the spindle of the machine.
4. The workpiece material placed on the vise.
5. The rotation of the machine set to clockwise direction based
on the type of the cutting tool.
6. Start the machine and setting worktable by moving the x-axes
and z-axes to flat the surface of the workpiece.
7. To cut along the edge of the workpiece, slowly cut for several
times as the tool moves to the specified axial depth of cut for
each passes. Cut for 10 cm height and 5 cm long.
8. To get the drain,22 cm width at top of the workpiece, calculate
the width of the workpiece and find the center.
9. Calculate the diameter of the cutting tool which is 12 cm.
10. From the center, set y-axes for 1 cm and then make a cut
along the z-axes.
11. After finish the cut, move the x-axes 5 cm for both direction
to get the width 22 cm.
12. Repeat the step until get height of the drain parallel to
the y-axes equal to 3 cm.

Result
Recomendation/ 1. For next milling process we could able to find the center or
next planning origin of the workpiece by setting x-axes/y-axes/z-axes to
zero.
