screen until it fills up.

Beneath the surface of an ocean filled with microscopic life.

NARRATOR

Ever since the dawn of time on Earth, evolution have been persistent in every living organism.
Constantly changing, the development of species to survive and thrive across many generations until
a mutation spawns a new stronger, better one. For as the world changes so do its inhabitants.

A tiny creature appears on screen.

A larger creature appears beside the two

The two smaller creatures are chased off.

After some moments passed a collection of microbes gradually appear on screen one by one. Each has
an image – one of Charles Darwin, one with the HMS Beagle, and one with the Galapagos Islands.

NARRATOR

This process, involved in all creatures big and small, is known as natural selection. The theory was
first thought of by biologist Charles Darwin during his expedition on the HMS Beagle to the
Galapagos Islands.

The camera moves pans upward pass the surface of the water and overlooking a beach and field with
small multicellular scattered around, bright bars appearing over them with indicating their health,
hunger and thirst as well as a level indicator.

NARRATOR
 Through his observations he discovered that species in large populations often struggle to attain a
substantial amount of food unless they adapt. Thus, he theorized that species end up diversifying to
better suit their environments due to what he later called the survival of the fittest.

Creatures are shown fighting over food, with one creature shown evolving or “levelling up” and having
a different appearance.

EVOLVED MULTICELLULAR CREATURE

They continue to venture into the land until they happen upon a fork in their path. The right leads to
an environment like where the creatures are now but with more foliage and another dry and arid with
very little vegetation. Some of the creatures go the former others the latter. In desert environment
the creatures struggle to survive. One creature finds a tree and attempts to eat the fruit from it. A fast
forward occurs within the world going by millions of years until the creature has evolved

NARRATOR

To elaborate, survival of the fittest can occur also when a species habitat either sees dramatic
changes or the species become geographically isolated. As a result of these mutations caused in the
DNA of animals and the gradual process of reproduction across generations will result in an organism
becoming adept at thriving in its new environment, a process which can take a million years.

The camera pans across from the evolved creature to an unevolved one before it unceremoniously
dies off.

NARRATOR

Those that fail to acquire such significant attributes may face extinction, the complete disappearance
of species. These new traits can range in purpose from camouflage to hide from predators, different
shaped mouths to feed on different food, various skin types to better survive in their new habitats.

A montage shows various creatures with differentiating attributes while a visual pop up naming them.

NARRATOR

While Darwin’s theory would take some time to catch on due to the lack of evidence, they would
eventually shape the foundations for evolutionary biology for years to come thanks to new
discoveries each day by talented new scientists. Perhaps one day you could be one of them.

The narration stutters before a pop box states that “game” has stopped working.
